Vital to read the fine print…
It is important to read the fine print exceedingly carefully before you buy one of these contracts -- nowhere on the website is it made clear or explicit that YOU must put your neck in the noose to have a mechanic pay to tear down your engine to figure out whether the repair will be covered. And if they decide it wasn't, then the teardown/inspection bill will be all yours. Second, the contract requires you to agree that you will keep EVERY receipt for ALL maintenance and upkeep and produce them upon demand. That's pretty absurd for most people. If they want to play that game, they should offer you a way to have all your work receipts uploaded as you collect them so THEY can keep them for you.

Thank you for taking the time to share this feedback. We understand how frustrating unexpected repair processes can feel, especially when you are already dealing with a vehicle issue. Like all vehicle service contracts, a teardown may sometimes be required so the repair facility and administrator can confirm the cause of a failure and determine coverage. We work to be upfront about this because it is part of how we keep coverage fair and prevent customers from paying for issues that are not related to a covered breakdown. That said, we know it is not a fun part of the process, and we are always looking for ways to make it clearer and easier to navigate. Maintenance records are another industry standard since coverage depends on proper vehicle care. Your suggestion about a simple way to store receipts is a great one, and it is exactly the kind of experience improvement we want to build. We appreciate you calling it out. If you would like, our team would be happy to review your situation directly and walk through your options. Please reach out to us at [email protected] so we can help.
