Hello John,
Thank you for your review. I was wondering if there is anything we can help you with? After pulling up your account, I saw no tests were completed yet.
Please feel free to reach out to our support team at [email protected] for assistance with the device and/or test process.

Inconsistent results.
I ordered glasses based on about 10 vision checks done over six weeks. The right eye felt good on, but I couldn't see properly with the left eye. I got my eyes tested by an optometrist for comparison. CYL and AXIS were spot-on. But SPH was not the same. Optometrist felt I was slightly nearsighted in one eye, while EyeQue put me a moderately longsighted in both eyes.

Hi Alexander,
Thank you for your feedback! Looking over your tests, I think that support can help you understand why you understand why you are seeing more of a hyperopic (Farsighted) measurement in both eyes. If you can reach out to our support staff, since this is your personal information, we can chat about your EGNs.

I reported a problem with VisionCheck…
I reported a problem with VisionCheck not working as described and have yet to receive a response to resolve my inability to use the product, waiting....

Hello William,
Thank you for your feedback. We are a bit late responding to your review, but we spoke with you via chat the same day and I followed up an hour later to notify you of a fix. Have you had a chance to try the app again? If not, please be sure to force close the app first then relaunch it.

Results indicated that I am slightly…
Results indicated that I am slightly nearsighted in one eye and slightly farsighted in the other, which is apparently pretty rare and should probably be corrected professionally. The try on glasses did slightly improve my distance vision but not close up. I think I would've been more satisfied if they were progressive or bifocal lenses since I had the best results wearing the try on glasses and my readers at the same time.

Hello Jennifer,
Thank you for your feedback. The EyeGlass Numbers (EGN) that your try-ons were created with are for distance vision only. We do not physically measure for reading distance. I am happy to take your feedback to our dev team for consideration for future updates/products.

Not a perfect kit
The kit I ordered was a bit difficult to use. I had to retake the vision test several times before I felt it was accurate.
To make the kit a perfect product It would be great if the test could somehow incorporate testing for close-up or for reading lenses, and the fit for progressive lenses which most older adults would need.
I’m not sure if the need for a prism prescription could be incorporated, but for me it is a necessity.
Using the kit with my grandkids ages 9 and 12 was near impossible.

Hello Arthur,
Thank you for your feedback. The VisionCheck does require a minimum of 3 consistent tests before it will generate an EyeGlass Number (EGN). A single test is not reliable. If there is inconsistency in your tests, it will require additional rounds of testing.
As for reading vision, the app does provide an NVADD value for reading distance, based on your age. This is based on a chart that many Optometrists use when gauging correction for reading distance. Progressive glasses can be ordered using your distance vision correction, NVADD, and your pupillary distance. The eyeglass manufacturer can make the adjustment for the intermediate distance based on the type of progressive glasses you are ordering. I understand that if the device were able to physically measure these 2 distances (intermediate and near), it would be ideal vs an estimate - I am happy to forward this suggestion to our dev team.
The VisionCheck is not recommended for those under 18 years of age due to accommodation, a normal reflex of the eye. It is difficult to have young children use our refractive products, let alone obtain reliable measurements. We hope to have a future product that will be more user friendly for children.

Not that easy to use
Not that easy to use. Several attempts resulted in several variations.

Hello Karen,
Thank you for your feedback. I'm sorry to hear you experienced a bit of difficulty during the test. However, after reviewing your results, they were fairly consistent, with the exception of the first test, which is expected due to inexperience with the device.
There is a message on the screen when reviewing your individual tests, notifying you that it is normal to see a variation of 0.25D-0.75D between tests, and that these measurements are not your EyeGlass Numbers (EGN). Your EGN is an aggregate of all of your valid tests, and this measurement is displayed on the dashboard of the app.
Please feel free to contact our support team with any additional questions or need for assistance.

The device seems great
The device seems great, though I found it difficult to use. It was heavy and I had to use one hand to hold it up while doing the tests. I also found that fitting the phone onto the device in the correct place was challenging. As we are hoping to have 80+ year old women use this device at home to test their own vision for research we are conducting I don't believe this will be super easy for them to use.
I also had a serious headache for the rest of the afternoon after using the device, which could have been related to calculating the pupillary distance incorrectly.
The device may not be for everyone, but definitely a good idea.

Hello J,
Thank you for your review. The Insight is a bit heavier than our other products, considering it is a binocular device and contains more parts/hardware. I noticed that you purchased the Insight Plus, which includes components to convert the Insight into a hands-free device, including a remote; this would help make the issue of having to hold the Insight with one hand while testing a little less cumbersome. Perhaps you can give that a try?
In regard to your use of the Insight - did you see double? Did you find yourself moving your head/trying to re-adjust yourself or the Insight in order to see the E's better? If so, that is a sign of an incorrect pupillary distance, and can be why you had a headache afterwards.
Please feel free to reach out to our support team if you have any questions.

As with one of your prior reviewers
As with one of your prior reviewers, the green locator symbols should be green outlines in order to appropriately center on the pupils of the eyes and the frame markings. Also, on my cell phone, using the rear facing camera which is much higher resolution, the image is perverted, e.g., right is left and left is right. I do not see any way to reverse this on my camera app or on your app. Additionally, the app should allow pinch-zoom so as to further magnify the image in hopes of allowing better viewing. One of my computer savvy friends tells me that most modern smart phones have much greater pupil sensing abilities than your app allows for. He was actually surprised how rudimentary the PD app really is.

Dear James,
Thank you for your review; the information will definitely help as we move to improve the application. The app should zoom into the area of the screen that you are going to move the Ts. This is shows up in the top left corner of the screen after you have taken a picture with them on. It shouldn't matter if the image is flipped or not when taking the picture. As phones evolve so will the app and we will begin to evolve how the PDCheck works. If you have any other questions that can be answered by our support team, please reach out to us.
