Crafty Cat L.
First time is the last time.
I have a lot to say, I’ll start out by saying I don’t have an Eyemart express in my city but I have them in two neighboring cities, so I picked the city I had been to the most and called them and they said they’d love to see me, but they’ve been having equipment trouble in the lens lab and can’t guarantee the glasses to be done within that day. I would have to just take a chance. I decided to go because I needed them for the upcoming Easter service which is more than a week away. Just getting a little out of town I thought, why don’t I try the other cities’ Eyemart express? so I stopped at a rest stop and I called them and they said sure come on over and we’ll get them done for you today! So I turned around drove all the way back through my city and over to the other city. Because I really didn’t want to have to make two trips and I would really like to have these done today so I get there and sign in and everybody seemed very nice and the first thing that was “off” with the girl that helped me, was when she called my name she just barely spoke it and I didn’t hear her and they were about ready to mark me off the list when I found out from another patron that she said my name, she said it very softly and no one could hear their names being called by this particular girl. So we sat down and discussed what I wanted I told her I had a prescription for BIFOCALS. We talked about what else I wanted the types of lenses and the specials that were offered and not once did she discuss progressive lenses and the difference between bifocals and progressive lenses and the prices of the two. And the word I said to her was bifocals and that’s what I thought I was getting when I came back to get the glasses when they were ready and it didn’t dawn on me earlier about the amount until I looked at it again but this is my first experience with this place, so when I tried the glasses on I looked for the line in the glasses and I didn’t see a line for the bifocals and I told the girl that it just felt weird when I looked through them and she looked at me really funny like I was crazy. But what it was, was the fact that there was no line like I had been used to in the past. So I mentioned to her that the girl that waited on me never talked to me about progressive lenses yet I paid for progressive lenses but I did not want progressive lenses. and during the time while talking to her, she got a phone call from another client and began to get very annoyed with this person over the phone and visibly showed her frustration with the client on the phone in front of me. Now back to me- she was asking me what did I want to happen with this? I said I don’t know and she said well we can take the glasses and redo them and you can come back and I said “I’m sorry, I am not driving home and then driving back to get them, I drove all the way over here I’m tired I am in a lot of pain and I’m not gonna do this because of something that was your fault”. She said “well you can wait for it to be done” and I asked how long? And she said probably until 6:30 tonight and it was just shortly afternoon and I said no that’s not gonna work either because I had to be home. And I said “still, this is not anything that I did, this is your workers mistake, not mine” and she said “I understand that, what do you want me to do?” and I said “I think you need to refund the cost of the progressive lenses,” and she got very annoyed visibly she said “oh, noooo, my boss won’t let me do that!” She didn’t even check with her boss, hand I said “well that’s what I think would be fair, since it was not my fault, she didn’t ask me what I wanted, and I did say the word ‘bifocals’.” So she walked away into another room with a couple other staff members I heard a lot of whispering she came back and she asked me for my credit card I gave it to her and she refunded me the price of the progressive lenses and I said “thank you so much I really appreciate this” and she just kept looking down at the counter, and went “mmm, hmmm” in a short, curt tone. We finished with everything, her conversation was now very minimal, body language was very different, and it just felt like she couldn’t wait to get me out of the store so she could voice her frustration of me with her co-workers. I thanked her again, was very nice and told her to have a nice day. I don’t feel bad at all, if the girl that waited on me, did her job correctly, this NEVER would have happened. I hope she learns from this, but I have my doubts. Things started out really good. But I won’t be going back. Not to that location anyway.
