I purchased a pair of Oakley eyeglasses last year in 2025 which are the Metal plate style. I went into the Cape Coral, Fl location of eyeglass world over a month ago to have my glasses adjusted, because the glasses kept slipping. The assistant manager, proceeded to adjust my frames using some sort of pliers and in the process cracked the lenses on my right side of glasses. I left the store thinking everything was ok but noticed the crack almost immediately and went back to speak with the manager, a lady named Briana. She was immediately hostile towards me doubting that her assistant broke the glasses. This was a most humiliating experience. She gave me nothing but a hard time, so I called corporate. The corporate said that they would take care of the situation. This is where things got even worse because, instead of offering to replace the Correct lenses which are the Non reflective Polly carbonate lenses, with the Anti scratch Crizal coating, she Miss Briana offered to put only regular Polly Carbonate lenses Without my protection and Anti reflective lenses. This company is a Complete Joke and they do Bad business to their customers. How can you offer to replace a lense that They Broke with a lesser lense ? Hello ! This is ridiculous! There is no other word . Their District manager should get involved with problems like this. Period !

I can’t believe that eyeglass world…
I can’t believe that eyeglass world doesn’t text you information about your eyeglasses. This is my second time with this company to get glasses and eye exam. I had an eye exam on Oct 3 2026 and my eyeglasses should have came in yesterday. Nobody has called me or texted me any information about my eyeglasses should. This is poor customer service if you ask me. 1 star is all they get from me.

Rude and uncooperative if not buying from them
Jury is still out on how well they did on my prescription using a virtual doctor.
I order my glasses online (price difference is like night and day) asked for a PD measurement and was told they can't... if you are ordering glasses from them they will do the simple measurement to ensure you get a proper fit with your lenses. Which really means that if your not dropping a lot of money on glasses they WON'T do the PD measurement for you. If it's some lame liability issue I could understand them refusing, but to just outright tell me they can't rubbed me the wrong way. It's a simple measurement and if they aren't confident that they can get it right then maybe they are in the wrong business.

Eyeglass World in Charleston has nice…
Eyeglass World in Charleston has nice prices and a good selection.
However, the three star rating is for the communication. I received a voice mail message that was confusing, but lead me to believe my glasses had arrived.
At store, glasses had not arrived, and I felt foolish as though someone had tricked me into coming.
Later received a text message that glasses had arrived, and this time was true.
Manager was helpful, however.

Took 3 weeks to get my glasses to find…
Took 3 weeks to get my glasses to find out that the frames were damaged, after new frames, wore for 2 days getting headaches and neck pain, went back in to find out that they cut the lenses wrong, another 2 weeks before I got them back, to also find out they cant adjust the frames to fit better on my face.

Wife had gotten glasses March 13th and…
Wife had gotten glasses March 13th and left country for 3 months, had gotten back to country and had been complaining about her lenses clouding up since was traveling. She only cleans with the set she bought from Eyeglass World. On June 26th was in store and manager said she must of used windex or something on them the coating shouldn't wear off. That's exactly the point it shouldn't. So basically said she was a liar and they couldn't do anything for her. $420 for lenses that didn't last 3 months. It's a drop in the bucket but basically opening salvo "you're a liar" was over the top. There are other eye shops to go to. Once again they're without a doctor on premise. Was a convenient location but the family will go elsewhere. All four of us have gotten glasses there before, of course they couldn't find all of us on new computer system because they use the old system and new system because they didn't merge systems. Funny all is a bit half assed waiting as they look old system the new system and the still can't fibd. Bring your old invoice so at least they can't accuse you of lying that you've been there. This was the Tamiami East at Freedom Square Store.

Never Ever Again!
Mobile, Al
I started not to go here due to past horrible experiences with insurance and customer service. The last time I went years ago the employee argued with me that I had a copay I had NEVER had a copay and only had paid the difference from what my insurance covered for a contact exam to the price that Eyglass World charges. I called my insurance company in office and they confirmed there was no copay. I also read another review with the same experience and insurance! Fast forward to late March 2026 I decided to try them agaun since this person and that doctor at the time is no longer there and chose to pay out of pocket amd file my own claim which they dont take my insurance anymore anyway. Great, because I have filed before with no problem. I received a contact lenses exam with eye and contact lens rx for $135, but they coded it as a contact lens fit to my insurance as a follow up. The pressure in my eyes were also up. So, instead of the doctor discussing any additional charges when I go to pay for my exam they have charged me $15 for rewetting drops I could purchase from Walmart much cheaper. Wellness therapy $35 for drops given for the increased eye pressure instead of discussing it with me and recommending I see an ophthalmologist and follow up because I have INSURANCE that covers this. I paid a total of $185 for going in for a contact exam that I expect to receive the portion for the contact lens exam back from insurance because I pay for insurance for this coverage.
I go in today and speak to Becky to ask for another itemized receipt. The same code as when I went in is on the form. So, I explain to her that it is coded as a contact lens fit, but I had an exam. She says she can't change it and that's how the doctor has it set up in the system. She was nasty and extremely unpleasant today just as she was the day I went in for the exam. She is unprofessional and does not have any customer service skills. Sour face and unwelcoming. I walk out to call my insurance and speak with my insurance and she explains that the code listed is a code for a FOLLOW UP and not an exam. I walked back in and spoke to them again telling them that the code that was listed is incorrect. I then ask for corporate's number and she says "she wants corporate number. She wants us to change the code on her receipt." WHO IS SHE?!?! For a professional and her to refer to me as she like she was very dismissive. I have a name!!!!! I will return tomorrow when the doctor who performed my exam is there and I expect for him to update or provide the correct information acceptable to my insurance for my reimbursement. The provider has been paid his money so there should not be a problem to provide what I need to get mine. I am at least pleased with my rx. However, I know this means absolutely nothing to any of you, but no I won't spend my money here nor will I recommend anyone else. It does hurt the business. Peole read reviews and listen to word of mouth and experiences. They upsale and charge you for things you don't need. They are receivers and thieves!!!!!! I know a little but more hands on with this establishment than I stated in this review. Customer service matters when visiting any establishment and for me it makes a difference and is included in a decision to return. It's sad because again I am pleased with my rx, but due to Becky and her lack of kindness, courteous, unpleasant, unprofessional, rude, distasteful manner I wouldn't want to return. I did go in today 4/15 and instead of dealing with her I decided to ask for a manager I explained to him the issue and he came back shortly with the correct receipt and code. Corey McDonald was pleasant, welcoming, professional and kind. I appreciate his manners and professionalism as well as the ability to assist me.

Poorly run store
I bought two pair of sunglasses two weeks ago. The color of the lens was too light for this Florida sunshine so I returned to the store to ask if they could darken them. I was told that only the store manager could help me with this. I have been back to the Naples, Florida store 3 times! Each time, the manager was not at the store and I was told to come back. I think the store is poorly run ....... the store manager should train other employees to take care of simple matters like mine!
