Prescriptions are repeatedly held up, and require follow-ups by my doctor in order to get them to proceed. Admittedly, this happens only with a restricted medication, but why should it, once a physician has approved its use by writing a prescription? One learns of the delay only by entering the website and checking on the delivery status, only to find the word "Stopped" on the progress line. This, or some other reason for the delay, occurs month after month, causing time to be wasted both by myself and my physician. Before Express Scripts took over the gateway to my United Health Care Medicare Advantage plan, there was never a problem. Responses to messages sent to Express Scripts/Evernorth on their website are responded to quickly and politely, but this is little consolation.

Frauds
Lost my anxiety meds in a house fire. After the doctor calling them numerous times, they still wouldn’t replace them until the next scheduled date. Now, I’m finally get my order and decided I hat I do not trust this company, so I decided to count to see if I got my 90 pills as noted. NO! I got 86. To me, this is fraud!!!! Can someone tell me how to go after them to make them accountable? Yes, I counted them 3 times and came up with the same number.

If I could give negative 5 I would
If I could give negative 5 I would. They denied my cholesterol medicine I have been for years which had previously been approved by OptumRx. They claimed my doctor needed to send records but these were sent 3 times. I am a doctor and am appalled by this disservice. Calling them is a waste of time. They have AI call and give repeated denials but impossible to speak to a person. I plan to speak to our medical groups HR director and state insurance board.

Express Scripts Epic Failure
I used Express Scripts via Cigna until April 2025 when I switched to Medicare insurnace. I signed up for WellCare Value scripts for Part D in 2026 and they use Express Scripts mail service.
Now every time a provider submits a prescription to Express scripts it is denied due to lack of coverage. I then have to hand fill out a form, take it to my provider and they have to hand complete the form and fax it to get Express scripts to use my 2026 plan, not the 2025 Cigna plan. No amount of calls, etc... work and I have had to pay out of pocket to get prescriptions that should have been covered.
I have spent a total of 3.7 hours on the phone with Express Scripts trying to get this resolved with customer support, IT, supervisors, etc..
The answer always comes back to "we cannot remove the old account and you will just have to use the paper form to ensure you are given the benefits you are paying for with the WellCare Value scripts to account.
DO NOT USE EXPRESS SCRIPTS SERVICES! CHOOSE SOMETHING ELSE, ANYTHING ELSE AS YOU ARE SIMPLY PAYING $ IN PREMIUMS ONLY TO GET NO SUPPORT WHAT SO EVER,

Evernorth owns WellCare Prescription…
Evernorth owns WellCare Prescription Drug company, a PartD supplier of medication for seniors and the disabled. It’s wiser to use your local pharmacy, than to rely on the mail order system they provide. You won’t get your prescription processed in a timely manner, especially if it labeled “controlled substance.” They will hold the prescription for 8 days without letting you know. If your doctor does an electronic Rx for a certain day, they’re going to hold it for a week or more, before it processes. Best to stick with the local pharmacy, not rely on them for mail delivery. I filed a Medicare complaint with the supervisor on the line. I should hear back in 30 days.

I would not possibly be able to write…
I would not possibly be able to write all the issues I have had with this company. All I'm going to stay is RUNNNNN! DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! Nothing but headache's and not great deal. Rude, completely unorganized, no one knows what is going on. I've called 8 times for the same issue and it's still not resolved. I will NEVER use them again, even if they give me my meds for free.

They refused to fill some of my…
They refused to fill some of my prescriptions even though I have been on the meds and dosages for years with no issue.( "They dont fill comfortable filling" )
Then they changed their filling requirements on meds ( 35+ days only ) Mine cannot be filled for more than 30 days and that effectively stopped me from appealing their first hurdle. I still don't see how they can legally refuse a doctor's prescription especially when I can show a 20+ year history of taking the meds.

Express Scripts is anything but express…
Express Scripts is anything but express and they play games with your critical prescriptions.
I have ordered prescriptions from them for the past few years and it always takes almost 2 weeks from ordering to when it arrives at your door. If you are going to work with them, know that you need to order with enough buffer. They have an auto refill that is scheduled to send in order to cover their 2 weeks, but they problem is that my doctor has updated my prescription because I am also taking another med that reduces my usage of my prescription and they never update it and so they send my prescriptions way before they run out and I end up stockpiling, so I set it on manual.
In another case, while I cannot prove it, they purposely dragged my prescription into the next year and I lost my HSA deductible that would have covered it and had to pay for it out of my HSA funds again. This is after my doctor sent the information they required 4 times before they finally accepted it. There was no change in the info in what my doctor sent, it was the same thing 4 times, but why would it magically get accepted when the new year rolled over? I constantly get emails and phone calls from them to join their Omada program, almost to the point of harassment. At one point, they told me I could not get my prescription unless I joined it. I told them I would go elsewhere and my doctor changed my prescription to something else that was just as effective and cheaper and a different pharmacy.
In short, they guys are slow to deliver, give you the run around on customer service, and play games. I am going to work on moving my other prescriptions to a different pharmacy. I'd rather pay a little more than to deal with these guys.
