All staff at Expat were very helpful and professional They responded very promptly to my queries and patiently addressed my (frequent!) misunderstanding of terminology and the overall tax-return process. As I had no previous experience of US tax filing, the task of filling in the questionnaires was very daunting and somewhat illogical at first. Although a specific guide was provided for some of the questions, it would have been more helpful to start each section with an overall view of how the information would be used. (Apart from the FBAR declarations, I didn’t understand how my answers would fit together into a return until the completed returns arrived.)

Experience was great and fairly painless.

Overall very helpful and timely. The service could be improved by somehow finding a means of uploading completed documents directly to the IRS.

Responsiveness to my queries was very good, and the process seems to have worked well, resulting in the first tax return for us to be filed, which is great. The only reason I'm not giving 5 stars is because I felt the timeline expectation could have been explained more, which would have saved a few chase-up emails.

I always feel under pressure by Expat Tax Professionals - like I´m not being proactive enough, yet they then do their analysis and complete the tax returns without asking questions or suggesting how I might do things better. I´m happy with the results and the value seems reasonable, as I think they really understand and apply the tax law very professionally.
