Dear Sharon, We too are sorry this product did not work out for you. The measure guides posted on our web site are identical to what the manufacturer recommends. These are compression wear and are tight on purpose. They can be a struggle to get on and off but the compression is what makes them work. Many of us have thought that users of this product were first introduced to it in a hospital or other care providing situation. This is obviously not the case with all.
