Freight companies calculate rates based on the weight and dimensions of the items being shipped which is why all heavy and/or over-sized equipment has a handling fee added. Hi Michael, Thank you for the feedback. Transit time is all based on the ship to location. We ship out of Rhode Island so you got lucky with a 1 day transit time! If a customer were to select expedited shipping and is the same (or less) distance with ground service, we always switch the order to ground and remove the expedited shipping charge.
