Resilient domain registration
Epik is the registrar for many domains that are important for people that care about free speech rights, so I used them to register domains that were likely to receive bogus takedown requests by activists. The Epik service was resilient while I used it, but I didn't renew my service. In 2021, Epik was hacked and customer information was published. In 2022, Epik became financially distressed, perhaps due to mismanagement. And in 2023, Epik lost an important lawsuit that caused corporate restructuring.
