Stay Away from this Company
Stay Away from this Company. They are fraudulent.
I sold a site to a buyer recently and used Epik escrow. Initially, I didn't know the company was having issues paying users who have money with them. When I discovered it, it wasn't too late as I immediately asked the escrow manager over at Epik (this is Tony) to cancel the transaction. I also asked the buyer of my site to do the same.
Their escrow cancellation policy states "Both parties have the right to cancel the transaction without penalties until the escrow is concluded. If the Buyer has already submitted payment, Epik will reimburse."
This guy (Tony) blatantly refused and disbursed my funds to masterbucks. Now, they are telling me Masterbucks has a problem and everyone will be paid in turn. This shows that Tony (Epik's escrow manager) had fraudulent intent when he refused to cancel the escrow transaction. At this time, they have tied $8k of my money, which is part of my business capital.

Domain removed from account without authorization.
I purchased the domain PianoMoving.com on 7/20/2022 via NameLiquidate.com, an Epik.com owned service, for almost $1,000.
It was transferred into my Epik.com account shortly after payment. This was the only domain in my account.
An email from Epik confirmed the domain was moved into my account and my WHOIS information was applied. I had full control and updated the nameservers.
When I checked my Epik.com account on 8/31/22 I noticed the domain was no longer in my account.
Then after contacting Rob Monster (Epik CEO then, Chairman now) I opened a thread on NamePros to discuss this issue.
Over the course of that thread a lot of new information was learned.
It appears the domain was removed from my account and transferred to another party on, or around, 8/19/2022. It was removed without authorization, notification, or explanation.
A Paypal refund was only processed after I randomly noticed the domain missing from my account. Was Epik ever going to notify me otherwise?
When I finally received a response from Rob Monster, it was not straightforward. He said -
The domain was involved in "an escrow transaction with a payment plan with zero commission. It was a bit of an exotic deal."
He went on to say -
"To make a long story short, the domain expired during the payment plan and was routed through our liquidation marketplace."
The rest of his response was just full of self-promotion.
Another response from Rob Monster accused me of making "defamatory" statements. He said -
"The timing of Brad's public post plus general brigading of negative energy, was unnaturally coincident with our marketing event at NamesCon. While I acknowledge Epik's error, Brad's approach was believed as not in good faith and was arguably defamatory and weaponized."
I asked Rob to point out what I said which was factually incorrect. Everything I said was accurate, to the best of my knowledge. Rob never responded to that request.
Epik and Rob Monster are supposed free speech champions. I think they need a lesson on how free speech works. It is not "defamatory" to report what happened.
Judging by other reviews, and comments on forums, it doesn't seem like I was the first person accused of this.
The bottom line is whatever happened in this situation was related to the incompetence of Epik.
If there was an error, Epik should have notified me and explained the situation. Instead, they removed the domain from my account without authorization, notification, or explanation. It was only when I caught the domain missing much later, that they provided a refund.
I would never do business with Epik again.

I wasn't going to leave a review
I wasn't going to leave a review, but at this point Epik has wasted to much of my time and patience. They have promised us getting our funds time and time again, but it's been a month now. No payment. New CEO admitted they have mixed escrow funds with general funds. No one even knows if they have the money to pay people

It’s been over 4 weeks i still haven’t escrow money of the site i sold via epik escrow. Epik hasn’t issued any public statement about why Masterbucks was down for 2 weeks.
Some of the people i met on Namepros told me they are owed over 200k, 56k and more. The situation is getting worse every day. If you want to know more about it, there’s a popular thread on Namepros.
If you are looking forward to do business with them, you would regret your decision.

Do yourself a favor and stay away from them.
A real nightmare.
I ventured to use this platform as an escrow service for a domain sale deal that took place elsewhere and if only I could go back in time...
The sum of the sale was not that great (in the three figures) but the very negative experience was memorable and caused me levels of stress and frustration that I have never had before.
First of all, like so many others, I had to wait almost an eternity to regain possession of my funds ... I felt that practically those funds were no longer mine since I was not in control and could not withdraw them.
On this side I feel almost lucky because there is a whole community of domainers and other people still waiting in the hope, full of frustration, anger, and disappointment, that they can withdraw the money from the platform.
They deserve my total compassion ... they don't deserve this.
It goes from bad to worse: when after an exhausting time almost as if by a miracle I see that my request has gone through, I find myself with a much smaller sum withdrawn than what I should have received before the very long maintenance.
Yes, by passing it off as 'maintenance' they had the 'cunning' to increase taxes in the withdrawals of the money, therefore all those who had money in masterbucks well before the maintenance took place, were forced to comply to the new terms of service of the after maintenance.
And they did this without notifying anyone or asking for permission to accept the new terms.
I confess that personally I have never seen such a thing.
The worrying thing is that there is someone who claims that after several complaints he was able to get the taxes for the withdrawal of the money refunded because according to him, even according to someone in the epik team or who occupies a relevant position, they could not motivate the increase in taxes without permission or notice.
If this turns out to be true, and I don't see why he should come up with it, it would mean that not all Epik customers are treated the same. The more I go on, the more it all seems like a nightmare from which you can't wake up.
Epik's chat service is also a very negative point as there hardly seems to be a difference between talking to a robot or talking to one of their operators. The responses pretty much all seem standardized, meaning they seem to give the same response to all of their clients which only increases frustration, anger, and stress levels.
You feel fooled and like you are banging your head against a wall.
Needless to say that when I have the opportunity, I will transfer all my domains to a more serious and professional service.
I don't want to go into too much detail about all the problems I've had, mostly psychological, as a consequence of this horror.
My advice is to rely on another registrar to manage your domains (there are so many of them), and to rely on another service to perform escrow (here too there are many).
Last word goes again to all those who have been waiting for months to be able to withdraw money from the platform.
Stay away from epik.

Since September 19th I sold a domain of $475 on epik, I haven't been paid. I have done countless verifications and still haven't been paid. People should be wary of such deals with epik. If you want to sell a site or domain please use Dan or Afternic and save yourself

If you want to destroy your peace of mind, DO USE EPIK!
Key takeaway: After 36 days, and paying $170 in name of fee, I'm still waiting for funds to hit my bank.
On 14th of September, I've sold my website through epik. On 20th of September the deal was closed.
They happily and easily accepted payment from my buyer. But when it comes to paying the sellers, they'll try their best to hold people's hard earned money.
After 20th of September, their payment website masterbucks goes offline for so called maintainance, their customer care representatives had no clue on when masterbucks will be live again.
After weeks of constant messages from customer they finally came up with the date of relaunch.
Since 11th of October, it was again working and i submitted request for withdrawal.
Today is 25th of October, 35 days and I'm still waiting for my funds.
The customer care representatives are acting like masterbucks is entirely different company and they don't have access to their data.
There is mysterious queue of payments no one know about. After weeks of maintenence, they're still processing payments manually.
I have been constantly in touch with Live Support but they aren’t resourceful at all and they know nothing when we ask them about our queries.
Live Support robotic replies are “Well, accounting team knows it and we can’t help you in this regard. We apologize, we don't have ETA on this, We don't have information about this” and so on.
I feel helpless in the regard as huge amount isn’t being released and global recession is hitting us badly and we are in this vicious cycle of not being able to withdraw our hard earn bucks.
