Hi Jeremy, we completely understand how frustrating it is to spend that much time on a survey only to be disqualified near the end. The screening questions and qualification criteria are set by our research clients, and unfortunately we don’t always have visibility into when or where those questions appear in their surveys. That said, being screened out 90% of the way through is not the participant experience we want to see. Please reach out to [email protected] with the study details so we can review what happened and raise it with the research team where appropriate.

Hi Morgan, we’re sorry to hear about this experience. In some cases, a participant may initially complete a study but the response is rejected by the research client during their quality review. Those decisions are made by the client, not as a way for Emporia to avoid paying participants. If you believe your response was rejected incorrectly, please reach out to [email protected] with the study details. We’ll be happy to review what happened and advocate on your behalf if the rejection doesn’t appear justified.

Hi Don, thank you for being part of Emporia for so long, and we’re sorry to hear how much your experience has changed over the past few months. We completely understand your frustration. Spending 20–30 minutes on a survey only to encounter a termination or closed-survey message at the end is not the experience we want for our participants. The surveys and qualification logic are programmed by our research clients, and unfortunately we don’t always have visibility into where they place their screening criteria or when their quotas close. We also agree with your point that, wherever possible, key eligibility questions should be asked early rather than after someone has invested significant time. If you’re willing, please reach out to [email protected] and mention the Visa/Mastercard study specifically. We’d like to review what happened and raise it with the research team. Emporia does not intentionally collect completed responses as a way to avoid paying participants, and we’d like the opportunity to investigate the experience you described.

Hi Adil, As we shared in our email directly after contacting you, an associate on our team sent you an incorrect email with a study invitation. This was immediately called out shortly thereafter, to which point you demanded compensation for our mistake. Looking into your profile on our platform we can see that you've attempted multiple studies across industries that you do not qualify for and do not relate to your professional experience. We're very glad to exclude you from future participation in studies with us, and discourage others who think they can make a quick buck online for impersonating professionals in participation in emporia studies.

Hi Martin, we’re sorry to hear about your experience. Being terminated at the very end of a 45-minute survey is understandably frustrating and not the participant experience we want to see. The surveys and qualification logic are programmed by our research clients, so we don’t always have visibility into where they place screening questions. If you share the study details with [email protected], we’d be happy to review what happened and raise it with the research team. We also want to clarify the payment timing mentioned in your review. Emporia issues incentives approximately two weeks after successful study completion, so we’re not sure where the expectation of payment within 24–48 hours came from. If you saw messaging in our Reward Center stating otherwise, please send us a screenshot so we can investigate and correct it if necessary.

Hi Raven, we take concerns about unpaid incentives seriously. Emporia does not make up reasons to avoid paying participants. In some cases, responses are rejected by the research client based on eligibility or data-quality criteria, and we understand how frustrating that can be. We’d like to review your specific $40 study and the reason provided for the rejection. Please contact [email protected] with your full name, account email, and the study in question. If a response was rejected incorrectly, we’re happy to investigate and advocate on your behalf.
