Hey Matthew, We’re disappointed to see the claim that we “will not help”, because that simply isn’t an accurate reflection of what happened. When you told us the manual did not contain the information required for your 2024 F-250, our team responded within minutes, apologised for the issue and immediately offered to search our library for an alternative. We asked for your VIN, engine, transmission and vehicle details specifically so we could identify the correct technical information for your truck. You declined that assistance because you had already chosen to use another source. We completely understand being frustrated when a manual doesn’t contain the exact information you expected. However, there is an important difference between us being unable to satisfy a refund request under the Membership terms and us refusing to help. Our correspondence clearly shows that we offered to investigate the manual and find an alternative from the outset. Calling emanuals.com a “straight up scam” while omitting that part of the experience gives future readers a very different picture from what actually occurred. Thanks, emanuals Team.

Hey Michael, There’s a little misunderstanding here that’s worth clearing up. Our 3-day free trial provides online, view-only access to manuals. Downloads are not included in the free trial, and we make this clear throughout the website, pricing page, and on our product pages. So, quite simply, downloading a manual while remaining on the free trial isn’t possible. To download, a Member must first choose and activate a paid Membership, at which point the free trial ends and the selected Membership begins. We’re always happy to take criticism where it’s deserved, but on this occasion we think the free trial might be getting blamed for something it simply cannot do. 🙂 Thanks, emanuals Team.

Hey Blake, We’ve reviewed the account and transaction history carefully, and the sequence recorded is different from what has been described here. The account initially entered the 3-day free trial. Within approximately one minute, the monthly Membership was then activated for $33, which ended the free trial. Shortly afterwards, the account was accessed through My Account > My Membership and the plan was changed from monthly to annual. Because $33 had already been paid, only the remaining $164 difference was charged, bringing the total to the $197 annual Membership price. You were not charged for two separate Memberships. We understand how seeing two transactions so close together could cause confusion, but the account audit trail records each plan change and its timing. Your annual Membership has since been cancelled, so there will be no further renewal charge. Thanks, emanuals Team.

Hey Marcus, We understand a membership model will not suit everyone. The Members access to our wider library of manuals rather than purchasing each manual individually, which can offer better value for those working across multiple vehicles or projects. We appreciate you sharing your perspective, particularly as someone who has used emanuals.com previously. Thanks, emanuals Team.

Hey Ron, We’re sorry this experience has left you feeling this way, Ron, but we do need to clarify what our account records show. The 3-day trial provides view-only access. Downloading requires an upgrade to a paid Membership, and this involves selecting a plan and confirming the upgrade before payment is taken. Our records show that the annual Membership was activated during the trial and a service manuals was subsequently downloaded using that paid access. Cancelling the following day prevented future renewal, but did not reverse the Membership that had already been activated and used. We appreciate your feedback regarding how the upgrade process was presented and will take that on board, but the $197 charge was not triggered simply by viewing a manual with Adobe or by signing up for the free trial. Thanks, emanuals Team.

Hey Peter, We’re sorry for the frustration caused by how your request was handled. Your original message was a clear request to close your account and remove your personal information, and this should have been escalated appropriately rather than resulting in repeated instructions to log in. We have now taken ownership of your request and will ensure the account is closed and your data deletion request is processed in accordance with our applicable data-retention obligations. We apologise that it took this experience to get the matter properly addressed. Thanks, emanuals Team.
