Refunds do happen when you ask...
I too received a text from this company after establishing my LLC through the State of Michigan in January 2026. I knew from previous applications for EIN numbers that there was no fee when applying with the IRS, however in the high spirits of starting my LLC, it did not occur to me that I had never received a text message from the government about EIN application processes. I did go through with the application and paid $149. Once my husband and I realized what happened, I looked online for reviews from others. There was one where the fee was refunded and so I reached out. The very same day, I received a response apologizing and offering a goodwill refund. I received full credit on my account a few days later, as promised! Further, it was explained that in part, they handle applications for people when they don't want to interact with the IRS. I told them the text to apply with them was opportunistic. Clearly, many others feel the same. What I have learned through this interaction is to take my time. If something seems off or feels wrong, don't proceed. Research the source first. I've also learned that asking for the consideration of a refund, does happen! It happened to me.
