I previously described my experience with this firm as “borderline scam,” but after what has happened since then, my concerns have become much more serious. My tax return was prepared by an intern, which was identified on the filing itself. I am now dealing with an approximately $9,000 Illinois tax liability, despite historically receiving tax refunds. I am currently working directly with the Illinois Department of Revenue to determine what went wrong and to correct the issue. What has been most disappointing is the firm’s response. When I contacted them about the problem, their response was essentially that it was “not our fault,” rather than taking responsibility for reviewing the filing and helping determine whether an error was made. Based on my personal experience, I would strongly caution anyone considering this firm to carefully review their tax return, verify who is actually preparing it, and make sure they understand what support the firm will provide if a problem arises after filing.Serious Tax Filing Errors and No Accountability

There is a huge misunderstanding on our approach. We understand your problem and tried to solve it. On our message we explained to you why we cannot help you. It seems somebody (other than our firm) already filed your Illinois taxes and that is why we receive the error as this return is already filed and accepted. Since we do not have the original return we are not able to fix it. We did not file your original Iliinois state return and we never filed an Iliinois state return for you. If you can find your originally filed IL state return, we were able to help you at that time. We can't help you because we cannot know who may filed your return except our company. We also shared with you the error screenshot which our program shows that the return is already filed and accepted when we attempt to help. That is why we say the problem is not our fault because what happened obviously was out of our control.
