At first look, the layout and options are a little confusing. Would be nice if the platform was a little bit more intuitive. This platform would be good for those that don't know how to program however, the metrics Edgeful provides can be fairly easily obtained with Python or Javascript. Other than the convenience of having something already created would be the benefit for programmers. Overall the platform is mildly helpful for certain things, but I would not call it a game changer. I think the platform has potential but needs a little more work.

Excellent reports, poor algos
I very much like the report section (5 stars), which is priced reasonably and it is very helpful. As for the algos, after 2 months of subsciptions I have now cancelled (1 star, possibly 2 because it helped me backtest ideas).
I feel the subscription for the algos section is significantly overpriced given the poor results. The product was sold as an easy and secure way to achieve a reasonable return, but they simply do not perform.
I contacted support and they accepted some of my points and said that they will try and improve them in the future. Some of the algos which Andre demonstrated in his YouTube videos a few months ago have been consistently losing recently. Of course I understand that algos need to be adjusted to adapt to changing market conditions, but the point is that you don't know how to do it and Edgeful does not explain how. In fact people keep fall into ovefitting setups which will never work in the future. The reality is that I do not believe anyone can consistently make money with these too simplistic algos.
In addition to this one should consider slippage, commissions, and technical issues.
The only thing it would make me change my mind if Andre would show an account with all trades taken for 6 consecutive months.
As I said, the report part is brilliant.

Hi Lorenzo
We’re sorry you didn’t have a great experience with the algos.
We’re still early in the process of providing the right guidelines around the algos.
For example, setting the right expectations, and making it very clear that our algos are not plug & play, and do require work.
We changed the onboarding flow as well. We have a static section with 8 different tips and expectations around the algos, and the first video in the onboarding is a “setting expectations” video.
We never want to make it seem like we’re selling a holy grail that will make you millions overnight. We all know that doesn’t exist.
As it relates to slippage, we added limit order entries to the automation.
I hope that everyone understands that we can never give users the “optimized / holy grail” settings. We’re working on making more videos on how to change the settings without overfitting.
We’ve even building a brand new feature which is the risk calculator so users can use realistic measures to avoid risking too of their account per trade.
We continuously emphasize users should be very careful of overfitting the algos. Unfortunately there’s no hard line of overfit vs not.
We appreciate that you love the reports and hopefully we can improve the algo structure and guidelines to have you back in the plan!

This is an interesting idea, but rather premature.
This is an interesting idea to provide quantitative statistics behind market structure. It seems that the company and especially the owner try to do their best to promote the statistical model. However, there are several issues with this approach. The statistics in the absence of market structure and price action for individual days and date ranges as provided are misleading. It is true that some of the proposed approaches by combining multiple reports as advertised can be tested, however at the expense of large drawdowns. The bigger issue is that the company seems to overload with reports and data rather than focusing on the reports that are potentially useful. This results in many reports that are either meaningless or of little value. Further, it is very questionable if the data as provided is useful at all for rapidly changing markets. The company advertises that they build custom reports, however, at any attempts to communicate, they either flat out decline or it appears that they don't understand the factors affecting the market structure. To sum up, there are some interesting ideas that the company promotes, but at present this approach is rather premature and needs further refining to be useful. Possibly, customers who have little understanding of the market could find the data useful at present. For the majority, the data as presented is either too basic or too misleading to provide any benefits.

Backtesting different from forward…
Backtesting different from forward testing for sure, not achieve the same results. Definitely great as for keeping discipline in check but more in-depth tutorials need to be done to achieve long term success in these algos. Not sure I its just me who's not utilizing the algos properly but having a hard time gaining success on the forward test. Andre is helpful on stream though.

A lot of data inaccuracies, hope they will really fix...
The two one starred reviews resonates with me...
I mostly trade futures (GC, CL, ES etc) and Forex
And I have real time data for the futures. And there's no "real time data" to buy for forex.
Both have a ton of inaccurate data.
I suggest you guys to manually calculate a few months of data and match with their data. Or even pinpoint one day and double check with their data..
When there're historical holidays (non-trading days) or gaps, the accuracies can get even worse.
I think the software have huge potential, but at the current state, the data is not that trustable.. And bad confluence is worse than no confluence when it comes to building a trade plan.
Don't get me wrong, some of them are accurate for the months I backtested, but still the inaccurate data for certain months/reports are too much for me.

For the futures data, we get it directly from the CME, we don’t interfere with the data ourselves once received. One thing I would mention is please be mindful of which contract expiration you’re checking when you’re manually checking the edgeful reports, because they don’t always move exactly the same. As a note there is no agreed upon “rollover” date we update our contracts after the current contract officially expires. We always use the continuous contract and adjust everything accordingly.
Regarding forex, we get our data from OANDA trading feed.
Regarding the holidays, if the futures are open and price traded, it will be included. Please keep in mind the session you select is very important to test these results. The OHLC will only be considered for the times you’ve selected in the session. For example, if you select NY session (9:30AM - 4:00PM) the only price action that will be included is between 9:30 - 4:00, nothing before and nothing after, when you select a session you’re filtering out all the data outside the session you select.
If you can please email us at [email protected] and let us know which reports you’re seeing issues with, that would be very helpful. You mentioned you’re seeing months of inaccurate data, which we’ve never heard of before — we would love to get on a call with you resolve this ASAP

Edit:
One more thing we wanted to mention was to make sure you’re properly checking our reports. For example the previous days range report has a customization that changes the criteria for closing green or red — previous close to close vs open to close. It is very important that you’re measuring this correctly when you’re checking against individual days. Almost all of our reports have customizations that will drastically change the results.
We just wanted to make sure to mention to be mindful of the customizations and other details.
