Many red flags this is a scam
as others have written, this is a scam. The issuer of my credit card denied payment for bitcoin purchase, twice, to protect against a scam. I was contacted, allegedly by Elon Musk, to use gift cards … the first red flag. Then I was given a link to a fake Tesla (investment) mining - I set up a user name and password; when I logged onto the actual Tesla, I was told there was no such username or password … red flag #2. On the fake site, I was instructed to open up the support option and “send [my] gift card” by sending a copy of the back of the card with the code number = BIG RED FLAG. This is a scam. This whole process occurred over a period of more than 3 weeks, many texts to me through an app (Telegram) - another scammers dream, and random phone calls through this app (so it can’t be traced). To clarify, Edge was an unwilling participant in this scenario, a means to an end to lead down the rabbit hole.
