I’m not sure that the quality of the paint is worth the high price. It is billed as Semi Gloss but it looks like Satin or matte in my opinion. It goes on thick and because it lacks any gloss it is very time consuming to paint everything absolutely perfectly to avoid any slight imperfections. It took about a week longer on our crib project than I expected just base on how carefully we had to be on every piece. We used it on a crib and aren’t super thrilled.

Re: EMR/EMF SHIELDING PAINT~> Nice product. Great, fast delivery, Customer / Technical Support however is severely lacking. Called Cust Supp to ask about WHAT specific frequencies this paint blocks and just got informed how STUPID they are: they DO NOT KNOW! When asked what for a translation of what the technical jargon on their website meant in plain ENGLISH and got MORE STUPID RESPONSE: "I DON"T KNOW". DUH! Wow!! So sad how this company can be so FAILING in this regard!

I ordered custom colored paint (based on a Benjamin Moore color) and the color matching was excellent. The paint is packed very well and arrived quickly. However, I was quite disappointed with the paint- both the gloss pet dwellings paint and the related primer. These paints are advertised as being designed for pet dwellings, and are pictured on the website as being applied to bird cages and dog crates. I applied the primer and paint to a bird cage according to the manufacturer’s directions, taking great pains to coat everything evenly. In fact, I was so neurotic about this project that I probably spent a total of 20 hours preparing, priming, and painting. After curing, the initial visual result was very good, consistent with the manufacturer and customer photos I had seen on the Ecos website. However, after a week or so of actual use- and light use at that, because my bird is not a chewer at all- the paint is already flaking off the cage. This paint in particular is a pretty good example of false advertising; it would be lovely for a decorative item but is far from suitable for anything that a pet actually “dwells” in. I’m annoyed that I wasted 20ish hours and $100 on this project.

I received the wrong paint color samples and the paint had a strong odor when it clearly says low odor

It's just thin white paint. Had to use 3 coats over light beige walls. I used 1 gal. and a quart and it covered only one wall and ceiling in less than 500 sq. ft. apartment. It does dry quickly and has no smell at all. Would not recommend to family or friends, because it is extremely over priced. There are other environmentally safe indoor paints at half the price. A higher price is no guarantee of better. I must say, the packaging was great, but the paint not so much.

Working with the company was good but their varnish is horrible and not durable. It wore off within a few months of mopping our kitchen floors. Its lasted a little longer in the dining room and living room but it does not protect like regular varnish. So now after thousands of dollars buying the varnish and wood floor stain I have to redo my floors. When the varnish came off , next the color started fading. We did 3000 square feet with this product:( I love natural things but in this case stick to synthetic varnish!!!!

I am very disappointed. Seven years ago, we began buying ECOS. Organic, ingredients were all safe, for my chemical allergies and autoimmune disease. Just now, we bought 4 more gallons to begin repainting whole house. We, painted one room. The odor was horrid now. First batch up until two years ago, had no odor at all. Within 24-48 hours full blown autoimmune flare. This lasted all week. Sick and out of work. Looking up the current ingredients, I was floored. Read each and every chemical on the declare sheet. It's very different now. The paint can also does not read "organic" anymore. All words same except "organic". I, can not believe this. From just two years ago, it totally changed. I, can never buy this paint again. I have 3 gallons un opened left. But, that matters not. The ill effects, can not be recovered. Please be aware Kathy

Have bought paints from Ecos in the past and all has previously gone well. A very good company to deal with and very good products on the whole. However I am very unhappy with the clear varnish I have recently bought. The varnish is easily applied and goes on well and does not smell but it has not left a clear finish. I had a natural oak engineered wood flooring and wanted to keep the look as near as possible. The varnish has unfortunately left the wood with a dirty yellow finish and certainly not clear which is very disappointing. The product isn't cheap and it took a lot of effort to sand down the previous finish back to the bare wood. I am now going to have to sand down again and try to find a suitable alternative elsewhere to apply.
