The product is amazing. Goes on super easy on our kitchen cabinets. NO ODOR whatsoever. Seems to be fine after applying and dried up quickly. 5 star for that. 3 star for the fact that they estimated the tax for my total and paid through Amazon. Then found out they charged me again for the correct tax amount. This was never notified nor approval was requested which concerns me.

My first attempt to paint a wooden Lovebird cage. Color is perfect, but haven't applied second coat. I'm TRUSTING that if they're able to nibble some, they won't get sick. More to come

Other than taking a bit longer to turn it around I am pleased. Danny Holder is a good guy to deal with

This paint is everything they say it should be. Covers nicely, looks great, but the one thing that it does not do well is work as a chalkboard. Granted Chalk works excellent on it, but Chalk Pens do not. Even when erased (damp wet cloth) you can see an imprint of whatever you wrote using a chalk pen. Otherwise, an excellent product.

I chose ECOS paint and varnish because I wanted products that would be safe for my small children and baby. The paint spread very well and had a barely detectable odor. I felt very confident in knowing my children weren't being exposed to chemicals, and the paint match was great. We did have trouble with the wood varnish on our refinished wood floors- it just didn't hold up to scuffing as well as we hoped. However, I was still satisfied with my experience, and plan on purchasing from them for future projects.

We purchased stain (Spiced Pecan) and Satin Varnish from ECOS Paints and refinished our hard wood floors. The water based stain color is lovely, very warm toned which is what we wanted on our floor with dark kitchen cabinets. A couple of things made this a not 5 star experience. Shipping speed was a bit slow (not really the companies fault). I contacted someone in the office to ask about the average time and was told typically about 3 business days to where I live. We ordered before they opened Friday and it didn't arrive until a week later on the Monday (Thanksgiving was in between so that more than likely accounted for some of the delay). Had we realized that we would have selected a faster shipping speed. The stain dries very quickly when you apply it. It is very watery (my husband started calling it paint). You have maybe 2 minutes for any sort of touch up or blending so be very careful when you apply this to do so evenly. Practice technique!!! There really is very minimal smell with the stain. I won't say no odor as I could smell it (but I am pregnant and have a crazy sense of smell). I was very impressed after my husband tested some oil based stain from the store with the difference. The varnish is another story however. It goes one white and dries clear...this was very helpful for application and it went on very easily. It does smell however, rather strongly. We are on a tight deadline and my husband applied varnish before we went to bed, woke up in the middle of the night to reapply, and then woke up early to apply before work. When I left our room, the smell was very strong. As it is December in Utah I had to wait awhile to open windows. The application instructions do not make it clear that you do need to sand between stain and varnish. We had to get on the website and chat with a very helpful support person. This step is not included in the application instructions. We were told that we could sand in between all varnish layers or not with a fine grain. There is a mis-sentence in the stain application instructions. It says that you can re-apply stain in half an hour but it takes 2-4 hours to dry. You have to wait that 2-4 hours to re-apply stain according to the support person. My main recommendation is the stain and varnish is amazing, but the application instructions need a little revising and clarification. We found that some of the instructions on the website contradicted what was on the can (Stir - do not shake, then shake well before using). I also wish that we could post pictures of the finished product somewhere that linked. It took me forever to find any sort of pictures of colors and such. This was a wonderful product! I was happy to find something that was so environmentally friendly and safe. I really love the color and am excited to see my whole house put together and how this holds up over the next several years!

I am just a novice painter so I do not have a lot of painting experience but I chose this paint because it appears to be the most eco friendly on the market and I have 3 young children. The paint was delivered in a reasonable time frame and had a very light scent. I was able to help my husband paint despite my sensitive pregnancy senses because the scent was so mild. The quality was great and we plan to purchase more!
