Just wanted to say that I had such high hopes for this paint. We are building new and purchased all of our paint from ECOS Paints. We had purchased Alabaster Sherwin Williams paint match. ECOS had sent us the incorrect color which our painter used to paint the whole house with. When we got a chance to look at the paint, we saw that it was the incorrect color. It looks horrible. Upon calling them, they offered to send out the correct paint color, but they did not offer any discount of any kind. We are now out $2000 if we were to repaint almost the whole house to the proper color as we would have to pay our painter again. Not to mention the additional costs to pay as we would have to hold off all of the other workers and have to pay fees because we would be late on our C of O. Additionally, they didn't even speed up the amount of time it could be shipped to us. I don't like to complain, and am normally okay with a small mess up, but this is clearly 100% their fault as their specialist even said that it was a mess up in color at their end, and they wouldn't even reduce the price on any of their paint for us. I cannot say that I would recommend them again as it seems that they don't really stand behind their product.

I ordered a qt of varnish for a floor. In the application it says 3 coats is recommended however when using the calculator it only recommends the one. It wasn't clear to me what I should order so I chatted with an online specialist who also assured me I just needed the 1qt for my 120 sq ft area. It took nearly a week to get (expected with UPS shipping at $13 would be a little faster). One coat was not enough nor was the 1qt hardly enough to even do one coat. When I talked to the owner he said the website is clear and the calculator is clear and that he didn't believe I talked to a specialist and basically just started yelling at me until I finally hung up. I simply wanted to buy a gallon but get compensated for the qt I already bought as I would have bought that initially if I had been informed correctly by the specialist. Customer service is horrible and owner should keep their cool if they want repeat customers. As far as the product, it goes on thick like a paint would and it doesn't smooth out like normal polyurethane regardless of a good brush or roller. Only plus is that it dries fast and doesn't smell. Will keep looking for a better low VOC/no VOC product and a owner that doesn't start yelling at their customers.

I purchased $1,700 worth of a paint and primer for a basement remodel and the long and short was the primer product, and paint to some degree as well was not work-able. It would compare the primer to a mud, and the paint to paste, even diluted down to a 1:1 still could not be applied to the wall, at least not in a thin enough liquid form. I called a sales rep and was told others have had similar complaints, but there is unfortunately nothing at the moment we can do, other to suggest adding more water. Needless to say that only complicated the problem. When I abandoned the Ecos products all together and requested even a partial refund I received the typical corp. treatment that our refund policy is very clear...translates to we can sell faulty product and we don`t have to stand behind them. Anyone with chemical sensitivities believing their products are the answer I`d second guess it, given the troubles I personally at least had with the application itself of their products.

The Top Ten Worst Experiences with a company. Their customer service is Horrible. Totally have to wait 3 weeks on a Refund after numerous of calls and emails and being told in a few days it will be refunded in my account. NO APOLOGY FOR THE INCONVENIENCE, NO OFFER TO MAKE THINGS BETTER, a discount: free sample, NOTHING JUST ENDLESS NO ONE ANSWERING THE PHONE. For me 9 out of 10 times no one will answer the phone. I love healthy safe stuff but someone needs to Take Over this Company and Teach them how to Run a business.

Ordered a gallon of paint and a quart of stain last Thursday and paid for two day air shipping because we needed to work on our project Monday. Not only did the package arrive very late Monday evening so we couldn't do it at all, they sent only a quart of paint. Emailed customer service with pictures and proof saying I needed the rest of the paint expedited as we are moving in just a few days and NEED TO FINISH PAINTING. No response still and this is the second day.... absolutely insulted, disgusted, will never ever buy this paint or rely on imperial paints for my painting needs again. Avoid this horrid company at all costs!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It's a good thing I bought a little jar and tested it on a piece of scrap before using it on my project. The stain is really not a stain it's simple tempra paint that dries very quickly. If one dilutes it way down one can use it like a stain but since there is no pretreatment for the wood it raises the grain and is absorbed extremely unevenly. I was enthusiastic when I read about this product and I sincerely wish I could be more so now.

it's been almost 3 weeks, and never received. Paid $50 for UPS, ground, and still have not received in almost 3 weeks, with no follow-up or update as to why. Tracking # emailed to me showed invalid.

I was very disappointed in my experience with the paint. I used the formula for cabinets and trim to use on some furniture and we used primer and four plus coats and the paint was still not covering the wood.
