I bought these because I thought it would make installation a breeze, and it would have if the 4x6 hadn't fit so tightly. Not sure that the bracket was out of spec, more likely that it was a newly treated 4x6 that hadn't dried out and shrank a little bit. It was a pain to get the 4x6 on each side into the bracket and I damaged the ends of the bracket trying to hammer the bracket on. A little more clearance from the bracket to allow for the swelled 4x6 is my recommendation. The 4x4s fit perfectly and slid into the bracket with little resistance. All in all, if you pick a nice dried out 4x6 and 4x4 at the lumber yard it should be a breeze for installation, but watch out if there are newly treated wood as it will be tough to slide into the bracket. Thanks
