The earplug putty is easy and comfortable to wear, however I still heard all the things around me that I wanted to block out- snoring, dogs barking etc. I went back to the cheap foam as they seem to block out a little more sound.

Yes, it is easy to insert, but it has to (SEAL) your ear canal to really BLOCK OUT MUCH !!!!!
Melinda, insert the ear plug a (bit more firmly) UNTIL YOU FEEL IT (SEAL) THE EAR CANAL.

Worse then the inexpensive ones available at any drugstore
Taking my new "better" earplugs on a recent cruise was the worst decision. They did nothing to lessen the noise of my snoring friend and that kept me awake for hours on end leaving me so tired it was hard to enjoy the trip. I wish I'd taken the earplugs I can get for one tenth the cost a my local drugstore.

We've sent you the HIGHEST BLOCKING EAR PLUG in THE WORLD!!!----and unfortunately you never figured out how to insert it on the cruise.
If you did, you would not have heard ANY SNORING!!!!
Joni, please don't give up. Please, follow the below instructions exactly and you will be pleasantly "shocked" !
1. Just as you are about to insert, take ONE ear plug and {work or knead it} thoroughly between your fingers or hands for at least 20 seconds to make it soft, moldable and to disburse the Pure Lanolin throughout the ear plug. Pure Lanolin makes the ear plug slightly “tacky” so that it stays securely in the ear canal and (SEALS) it. When the ear plug is soft and moldable and ready to insert, it doesn't matter what shape it is; round, flat, long or narrow; just follow the next step.
2. Using the tip of your index finger, push FIRMLY& FLATTEN the ear plug IN and AGAINST your ear canal (until you feel a GOOD (SEAL!) If it doesn't seal immediately, then hold your finger pressed against the ear plug (with slight pressure) for a few more seconds and it will (SEAL) well.
3. Now take the other ear plug, prepare it the same way & insert it into the other ear. With both ear plugs inserted correctly & sealing the ear canals, you’ll notice a HUGE improvement.
4. To Remove: Simply pinch the ear plug with your thumb & index finger and gently pull downward and out.

Sleeping better than ever!
My boyfriend snores so loud and I am a very light sleeper. Was up 10+ times a night because of the noise. At first, the ear plugs were a little weird to get used to. But as soon as I was comfortable with them, I hardly know they are there. I love them and have never slept so good.

Does what it says- best ever
I have tried quite a few products but this is just the best ever. There is not an ear plug that comes anywhere close to being as good. Have been using them now for 8 months. would recommend these.

Best sound barrior ear plugs ever, with the least irritation.
I have tried every ear plug on the market, all of which have been extremely uncomfortable and have irritated the inner ear. These clay like earplugs are much more comfortable as you can mold them to your outer ear without having to insert them into the ear canal. All other ear plugs have caused me to get ear infections, however so far so good with these. You can also remove some of the clay if the amount is too large for your ear to make it more comfortable which I like. The only negative thing I would have to say is that when you take them out you have to wipe your ear very well otherwise there is a blue residue left inside your ear. Aside from that though, I highly recommend these!

Re: residue: Denise, if you will just (knead or work) the ear plugs between your fingers of hands for 20 seconds (just prior to inserting), you will then disburse the pure Lanolin throughout the ear plug and it will not leave any residue.
