Dear Heather: JUST THE OPPOSITE!!!! >>>>>>They're FANTASTIC !!!!! BUT >>>>> You have to insert them CORRECTLY and allow them to (( SEAL )) your ear canals!!!!!!! When you do, You'll hear nothing but SILENCE !!! Heather please follow the instructions below and you 'll be pleasantly SHOCKED. >>>>>>THEY REALLY BLOCK OUT !!!! 1. The very first time that the ear plugs are prepared for insertion, you take ONE ear plug at a time and (knead it or work it) thoroughly through your fingers or hands for at least 15 seconds to make it soft, moldable and to disburse the pure Lanolin throughout the ear plug. 2. Now that it is moldable, use the tip of your index finger and (push and flatten) the ear plug somewhat (firmly), IN & AGAINST your ear canal, until you feel a good SEAL. If it doesn't SEAL immediately, just keep your finger pressed against the ear plug for a few more seconds, and it will SEAL the ear canal, not protrude out from the ear and block out superbly. 3. Now take the other ear plug, prepare it the (same way and insert it exactly the same way) as the first ear plug. Now, you'll hear SILENCE! All of us in our office where them for the same reason as you need them; and THEY WILL WORK WONDERFULLY!!! You'll see !!! Dear Linda: Don't work you say??? Linda, Just the opposite!! This magnificent Mighty Plug ear plug is the FINEST EAR PLUG ever made to block out snoring; IT WORKS PERFECTLY!!!!
