Oh Julie: Of course they'll work PERFECTLY, They are the HIGHEST BLOCKING Ear Plug made>>>BUT when you mention "hair", then we know exactly what you did wrong! Julie, you didn't insert the ear pl;ug firm enough or far enough into your ear canal. It is PROTRUDING OUT TOO FAR from your ear canal and it got involved with your hair. Please, follow the instruction below exactly and you'll be pleasantly surprised! 1. Just as you are about to insert, take ONE ear plug and {work it or knead it} thoroughly between your fingers or hands for at least 20 seconds to make this Beeswax Ear Plug (soft and malleable).When the ear plug is soft, malleable and ready to insert; just follow the next step. 2. Using the tip of your index finger, push the ear plug ( a bit more FIRMLY) and FLATTEN it against your opening and ((into your ear canal)) until you feel a (( GOOD SEAL )). IMPORTANT: If it doesn’t seal immediately, then hold your finger pressed against the ear plug (with slight pressure) for a few more seconds, and it will SEAL well. 3. Now take the other ear plug, prepare it the same way & insert it into the other ear. With both ear plugs inserted correctly & SEALING the ear canals; now listen: you’ll hear very little or most likely no noise at all; and (it even gets better) each day or night afterwards..
