Hi Gabe, I really like your concept and the way your questionnaire helps people understand where they are on their development journey. I feel that I’ve ended up in the right place, although I have to admit that I sometimes curse at how difficult it can be! In the end, there’s only one solution: practice, practice, practice. Unfortunately, I belong to the older generation, I'm 61 years old, so learning new things can take a little longer, and it’s easy to forget what you’ve learned along the way. That’s why I believe in repetition until it becomes part of your muscle memory. Muscle memory tends to stay with you a lot longer than everything else... at least for now! 😊 Regards //Mikael Skafar drummer in ARKADO

Beginner Comment I thoroughly enjoy the beginner program, ie. 24 day program. I am not sure I will complete it due to feeling like I need to practice some lessons more than a day. One sort of confusing thought; the days and the lessons don’t necessarily line up due to skip days, maybe those are for practice. Not a big deal but on day 8, I would like to be on lesson 8, just so I know I am on track. On the beginning stick lesson, there is no mention of traditional left hand; I seem to like both grips sometimes. Also having not ever played a kit, it would be helpful to know how to space both pedals and stool; also I am not sure about heel up or down. Lastly I received some interesting other email tips/lessons from you that interrupted my 24 day program that I had to watch, not necessarily ready to practice. These are not critical comments because I look forward to improving my skills with these lessons; my goal is to become coordinated in a year. Thank you so much for your teaching!

Very useful guidance for beginners although the perfection depends on the practice

The amount of continuing fresh content is amazing and the overall presentation is very hands on and flows. The RED ROCKS paper weight is dope and the K. Reeves post on youtube ...... I will be attending a show just to take in the chops on display. I am more confident behind my kit and that is what it's all about.

So far so good! I'm taking my time between lessons and as you know, within each lesson there are multiple exercises to learn, and learn to the point of confidence. Remembering that this is not a race is important. I would like to see expansion on themes presented. For instance, the linear grooves could have a follow-up PDF of additional linear grooves to learn. Not necessarily with a video joined with it as probably not realistic in terms of time and expense to DBO. Thanks much! John Coia
