Driver here! I am owed 113.00 dollars for rides I gave. I went to cash out and all of it is gone and of course no one is giving a straight answer to why my funds aren't there. I worked for that money and I want it back. Times are too hard to be playing with anyone money.

The Empower driver Saviour Dweh picked…
The Empower driver Saviour Dweh picked me up at 10550 Baltimore Ave, Laurel MD and was given the address 2110 Haines St, Baltimore, MD 21230 which is Greyhound bus station but the bus pick up spot was the 7-11 convenience store at 605 7th st, Laurel MD. I gave driver Saviour Dweh the change and direction to the 7-11, where he dropped me off. I later found that he charged me $36.09 from my pick up to 2110 Haines St, Baltimore, then $26.50 from 3607 Fort Meade Rd to Baltimore again! I have record and proof of my bus ride from 7-11. I am going to sue the company for the employee's eggregrous charges and for causing me to lose my bus ride due to the insufficient funds caused by his charge. I am going to send this to the corporate office and DC Mayor Bowser's website to inform her of this matter. They are given 24 hours to respond to this email. My missed bus costs $127.00 and 13 hours of my lost time. The replacement ticket is $120.00.

Foreign to me
They’re more expensive than Uber and Lyft most of the time and the drivers mostly all of them don’t speak English. I have no problem with that normally but we’re in AMERICA!

They are charging $3-4 more than what it shows for every ride. And, they have been sending drivers after I only looked at the fare and then charging for the ride!
It’s a total scam and I will never use it again.
Beware!

I’ve noticed a very frustrating pattern…
I’ve noticed a very frustrating pattern with the Empower app. The app will almost always show that the driver is 1–2 minutes away, but in reality, I end up waiting 10 minutes or more. The map and driver location also do not seem to be accurate. There have been multiple times when a driver says they are at the pickup location, but they are actually nowhere near me.
What makes this even more frustrating is the cancellation fee. If I’ve already been waiting 15 minutes or longer and decide to cancel, I’m still charged a $2 cancellation fee because the app says the driver is only 1–3 minutes away. From my experience, the problem is that the app repeatedly shows the driver as being close when they are not, which leaves the rider stuck waiting and then penalized for canceling.
My most recent experience was especially frustrating. I waited 20 minutes for a driver who the app said was 2 minutes away. I tried contacting the driver, but the app said the service was unavailable. At that point, I gave up and called Uber instead, and an Uber driver arrived within about 5 minutes.
Then, while I was on my way home with Uber, I opened the Empower app and noticed that my activity showed the Empower driver I had been waiting for earlier as “dropping me off.” I wasn’t even in the Empower vehicle. That was extremely strange and concerning.
I’ve contacted Empower support and requested a refund, so I’m currently waiting for their response. Hopefully they will look into this issue because riders should be able to rely on the driver’s location and estimated arrival time being accurate. If the app consistently says a driver is 1–2 minutes away when they are actually much farther away, riders shouldn’t be charged a cancellation fee for giving up after waiting 15–20 minutes.
Empower really needs to address the accuracy of its driver tracking, ETA information, cancellation fees, and ride activity history.

With 11 years as a driver with Uber and…
With 11 years as a driver with Uber and outstanding ratings, I decided to sign up with Empower and see what all the hype was about. I failed the background check and my account is locked. I cannot click on the button in the app for my account and navigate to settings or delete my account because it tells me I must complete onboarding before account options or settings are available. When I reached out to support I was told to delete my account using the app.

The driver canceled on me and takes the full fair of 40 dollars. The saddest thing is I can’t even reach out customer service by phone and their email said it will take few weeks to get back to me. It is frustrating this will be my first and last experience

Scam
Scam. Drivers just accept a bunch of rides and drive in circles until you cancel. No way to rate them poorly, no way to get your cancel fee back, no recourse whatsoever. Company doesn't care either - their feedback portals go to a junk pile. AVOID.
