Mostly good. Great roasters. Great online system and cheap shipping. Bummed the price went up (which they warned about to be fare) but the bean size (12 down to 10 oz) without telling us.

So far I have enjoyed two of the three coffees I have received.

I have enjoyed my subscription for several years now. I like having the ability to adjust the subscription both by adding things to the cue and by adjusting answers to the quiz (light or dark roast). I think the options for shipping frequency are good. The roaster selection is also a positive. I do miss being able to shop by viewing a list of roasters by region since I prefer to order from roasters in the east (though not always). I have had a few bags come ripped due to the material of the bag, mostly the brown paper based bags.

The coffee was fresh, and the variety is fairly extensive. However, I had multiple technical issues from signing up initially (subscription never kicked off and had to do my taste profile all over again), to the subscription reverting to an expensive non-free shipping version without any warning after my starter pack. Then finally a shipping delay of over a week past the expected date. That, coupled with the fact that no bag I ever received (out of 3) was more than 310 grams - usually was 300g. That creates a quite expensive situation for a $17-18 bag of coffee. But you are getting access to small craft roasters and paying for the ease of access. Finally, I decided to go with Intelligentsia for a bigger box, more consistent subscription experience.

The coffee was terrible and probably bad. It was sour and did not smell pleasant, but no one from customer service cares to write back so I cancelled. Go to whole foods and pick something there because it will be better than this junk. Edit: I finally heard back from the company and they replaced the bag with an amazing coffee! They asked some questions about flavor profile and sent the perfect bean! I am keeping the subscription and and happy they finally reached out.

Great coffee from a huge variety of roasters and origins. Would be 5 stars if there were better options to get the coffee ground to the right size for you. Not everybody has a high quality burr grinder at home and my initial experience trying to order ground coffee could have been better. That being said if you are getting whole beans there are not many better options out there
