I mean, it's a hassle and opens them up to a class action lawsuit but I can bypass them and publish to their distribution network directly and bypass these greedy parasites. P.S. new $20 sign up fee and if you don't sell at least $100 you have to pay $12 yearly. Untrustworthy, greedy, short sighted.

I am extremely disappointed with my experience with Draft2Digital. After publishing my books through the platform, my books were delisted and my account was restricted. What was most frustrating was that I was not provided with what I consider convincing evidence that my books or account had violated the relevant requirements. I understand that Draft2Digital has policies and must comply with the requirements of its retail partners. However, when an author's books are removed and their account is restricted, I believe the author deserves a clear and specific explanation of what caused the action, together with a meaningful opportunity to respond or correct any genuine problem. In my case, the explanation I received did not adequately address my concerns or provide evidence that convinced me that the action was justified. The decision had a significant impact on my books and publishing activities. I am particularly disappointed because I had invested substantial time and effort into writing and publishing my books. Authors need to know that if something goes wrong, they will receive transparent communication and a fair opportunity to understand and address the issue. Based on my experience, I would advise independent authors to keep their own copies of all manuscripts, covers, metadata and publishing records and to consider maintaining alternative distribution channels rather than relying entirely on Draft2Digital. I hope Draft2Digital improves its communication and review process so that authors facing account restrictions or delistings receive clearer explanations, supporting information where appropriate, and a genuine opportunity to respond.

They charge a fee to publish your book, but if they decide it's low quality, or for any other reason, they may email you saying it won't be published, even after you've already paid the fee. We're currently waiting for a refund. Our book is already published on several other platforms and has been extensively reviewed, so we're at a loss as to why it was rejected. They also don't work with authors to refine the book or help make it compliant with their policies; they simply reject it. EDIT: I asked the refund August 5th, the money showed up today August 13th.

It's the worst platform, stole my money and close my account

D2D, used to be a great distributor. Sold many books through them. Recently, they decided not to pay royalties below $10, despite other distributors still doing so. Now, more fees yet no sales! I'm still selling many books through Amazon and Ingram and getting my royaties, with NO FEES! I'm closing my account since they are doing their best to lose clients. Don't even think of going with D2D.

I performed KYC and my account was immediately put on permanent probation. After checking i realized there might have been a slight typo with my address but now all my royalties upto $1000 are gone with no chance for appeal or retrying. Draft2digital need to do better with their compliance reviews and offer alternative ways for authors to access their hard earned royalties. How can i be illegitimate when i have a US bank account as my payment method and my information there is valid.

I can assure you that all the bad reviews here are 100% true no lies because I have personally experienced it because why will they just wake up one day and suddenly say they can’t verify my KYC and just deleted by account. They didn’t ask me any questions or request information from me. Customer service is a nightmare, horrible company and they refused to pay me my royalties I’m sure that’s why they suddenly deleted my account. I have more than 20 books on the platform and already made substantial sales. Stay away from them.
