I had a very poor experience with D2D
I had a very poor experience with them. poor communication that was very misleading caused me to lose trust in them. Would not reccommend using their service.

In 2020, at the height of the Lockdown, I got an email from Draft2digital telling me that because they could not verify my identity, I have been banned from my platform. I told them to tell me which ID type they wanted - passport, video call, license, etc. They said, Go away and best of luck distributing your books to stores directly!!! Can you imagine this? During lockdown when I needed money the most. And so, they deleted all my books, years of hard work down the drain. Later, I found out that they had banned all Nigerians and all Africans. They blocked the livelihoods of thousands of authors from a whole continent!!! I messaged the CEO on twitter. I messaged all their principal officers asking them to reinstate my account, no response. Draft2digital is a heartless, wicked company. Now, they have acquired Smashwords. This means they will create a MONOPOLY that specifically excludes Africans from opportunity. Is this not racism? Is this not discrimination?

Very bad service. They just terminate your account even if you are a new user. Contents are all unique and not found any where on the internet but they just brush it off. Please get a new support team, very bad customer service.

I have had a lot of issues with this company as I write mostly erotica and I have to say they claimed that Amazon has blocked me, yet when I asked Amazon why as I do have my own Amazon KDP account I just thought it would be easier to do everything in one place. Amazon was just as confuse as I was. The other thing is unlike Amazon and Smashwords which review the eBooks by hand, they have a automatic system, which well I have to say lacks some common sense, as they seem harder to publish than Amazon is, which has been known to be a bit harsh at times. For example, I was trying to publish an erotica that I have on amazon that has to do with furries or Humanoid animals, and they tagged it as bestiality but on Amazon its fine. I would work with Smashwords, Amazon KDP and Lulu, those were the ones I have had the most help with and better customer services with. Updated they have terminated my account for the above reasons and also, I have autism and seem to not wish to understand that. They also threaten legal action against me as well in their email. I have to add with the recent merger with Smashwords and as such since they banned my account with Draft 2 digital, I need to warn everyone that if your account is banned by D2D they will also ban you on Smashwords as well. If you do business with either Smashwords or D2D get out of there, as they cannot be trusted any longer.

The most aggregating Publishing experience I ever had. After uploading over 70 travel guides, they inform me they have been rejected due to "competitor links" such as Amazon. I take out Amazon from one book and attempt again. This time they tell me the problem is Google. They expect a travel guide not to have Google Map links? I asked four times for an exhaustive list of competitor links. And they never gave me one. Just generic replies. The customer service people were rude, rude, rude and after multiple attempts the elusive exhaustive list of "competitor links" I told them to close our account. A nightmare. It's very clear why Amazon has 70% of the market.
