Do not distribute through Draft2Digital if you write romance or erotica. Their content moderators are even stricter than Amazon—to the point of absurdity. If you work with this company, you run the risk of getting banned + D2D withholding your royalties. Apparently, my books are too racy for them. They're more than happy to pocket that dirty money though. A bunch of crooks.

I’ve been with this crowd for a few years but I’m going to pull all my works off their platform. My issue is that I have never received any royalties because according to them my monies have to hit a certain threshold before they will pay out. But then, when monies hit that threshold they still refuse to pay you citing that your tax documents are not in order. I’ve taken the tax interview a number of times and according to their own systems I’m tax cleared with D2D until the end of December 2027. I like the fact that Draft2Digital have strong exposure with booksellers like Barnes & Noble and Kobo but these companies need to sit up and take notice of what is happening in their own backyard. Books are being sold through these entities and the money is not finding its way back to the authors. I might add that I never have this kind of trouble with Amazon. Go figure!

As an Italian citizen, I must declare that I have no ongoing business with the United States by filling out the W8-BEN form, which I filled out without problems on Amazon and Google. They wanted a paid bill, a copy of my identity card, tax code, which I promptly provided, and they banned me for life, warning me from creating other accounts or in the name of other people.

Draft2Digital's handling of my account, following a simple tax reduction request, was astonishingly unprofessional. Citing unfounded use of AI for content creation, they closed my account, disregarding the fact that I submitted only one manually-written book. This knee-jerk reaction, without proper investigation or dialogue, highlights a significant lapse in professionalism and understanding of authors' needs and rights. Such actions not only undermine trust but also reflect poorly on Draft2Digital's operational integrity. Authors seeking respectful and fair treatment should be wary. This experience calls into question their commitment to supporting their author community.

They are a bunch of scammers. They refuse to pay me my royalties. They refuse to take down my novel which they are reselling on Amazon.com.
