The danish cookies in the blue tin are 100 times tastier than these and u get more for ur buck. I taste practically no butter at all and they are not crisp or fresh tasting. They included an extra cookie in the box which they should have left out because it was stale. Most likely this is why I got it. Hardly any jam on the cookies that came with jam and I can put my own jam on my danish cookies if I want because those cookies do not include the ones with the jam. They also included a cookie that looks like a spice cookie and starts to taste like one and then it ends with a bland taste that I can't identify as any kind of a spice. I threw them away. I am mad at myself for following the hype of an Italian cookie.

Hi Cassie,
It is unfortunate to hear that you didn’t enjoy our cookies. We understand that not every product is going to suit every palate, and that’s perfectly okay.
We do want to clarify for anyone reading this review that Dolci Aveja is intentionally very different from mass-produced cookies you mentioned. Our products are made in small batches and have a much shorter shelf life than highly processed cookies, and we are actually very proud of that difference. It is also one of the reasons our customers continue to come back to us.
We work very hard to be as clear as possible about what we sell. Our website, product descriptions, photography, social media, and advertising clearly explain our products, ingredients, and methods, as well as the type of product customers can expect. Nothing about our cookies is presented as the type of cookie you are describing you prefer. What we advertise is exactly what we deliver.
We also want to address the comment about the cookies being stale and tasting like a spice cookie. Our products are shipped directly from Italy in fresh batches, and I can assure you there is nothing remotely spicy about any of the products we carry.
We appreciate anyone who gives our products a try, but we also believe customers should understand what they are purchasing, and we will continue to be very clear about that.
Not every cookie is for everyone, and that’s okay. We are proud to make our cookies exactly as they are made in Italy.

Disappointed
I received my third order of these cookies on March 9. I had gotten four boxes of Pasticceria and two of Amaretti. As I unpacked the order and was putting them away in my pantry, I noticed through the cellophane window that one box of Pasticceria was not filled all the way as the other three were and felt lighter then the others. Upon further inspection I also noticed that the cookie boxes were only sealed on one end, unlike past shipments. Also through the cellophane window in the Amaretti cookies I could see that a cookie covered in chocolate was turning white. In my correspondence with the American representative I was told basically not to worry about it . I didn’t open the Amaretti until three days later and they are all as hard as a rock. Even the hazelnut which are usually so delicious and chewy are visibly shriveled up and inedible. The response has been patronizing and apparently my expectations are unrealistic. I am asking for a replacement for the two boxes of Amaretti and I would like a response from the company’s headquarters not the representative here in the states.

Julie,
We are disappointed to see this review after a full week of direct communication with our team, during which we responded promptly to every one of your emails — including over the weekend — in an effort to address each of your concerns in detail. Despite all our efforts to provide you with the best service, you have been rude to our customer service team and claimed that we were misleading you in our responses. We want to clarify a few key points.
As you stated, this was your third order in less than two months, and as you also mentioned — thank you for confirming — “our products are delicious.” We appreciated your repeat business and included a complimentary product as a courtesy.
Your order was placed at 2:13 a.m. and shipped before 11:00 a.m. the same day, reflecting the speed and care we provide with every order.
You selected Priority shipping, and the package was delayed by the carrier over the weekend — completely outside of our control. You first contacted us Saturday night and stated that if the package did not arrive by Monday, you would not order again from us. We replied immediately over the weekend, monitored the shipment, and issued a partial refund as a courtesy.
In addition, the expedited shipping charge remains unpaid due to a payment processing issue, which we chose not to pursue as a goodwill gesture.
Your review omits several important facts:
All products are sold by net weight, not by number of cookies. Because they are handmade, sizes vary. The guaranteed measure is the total weight, not the piece count. We explained this to you clearly. The guaranteed measure is the weight, not the number of pieces.
Packaging: We transitioned to individually wrapped cookies to better protect freshness. An exterior seal is no longer always required. A missing edge seal is a minor packing imperfection, not evidence of tampering.
Batch code: Your previous order was placed less than three weeks earlier, so both shipments came from the same batch. Our products are made without preservatives, so a shorter shelf life is expected and part of our quality standard.
Chocolate appearance: The discoloration you mentioned is a natural effect called chocolate bloom, which can occur with temperature changes during transit — especially with a weekend delay. It does not affect safety or quality.
Storage claim: You suggested improper storage due to Florida humidity. This is incorrect. Our products are stored in a climate-controlled, FDA-registered facility. If this were a storage issue, it would have affected your previous orders as well, which it did not.
What is especially disappointing is that despite:
our prompt responses all week,
our weekend replies,
the complimentary product included in your order,
the partial refund issued as a courtesy,
and our decision not to pursue the unpaid expedited shipping charge,
you still escalated the matter publicly and continued to make claims that do not accurately reflect either the product or the service you received.
Lastly, we want to remind you that you began this correspondence by stating that if your order did not arrive on your expected day, you would never order from us again. From the beginning, your communication has been consistently hostile. You received discounted pricing, a partial refund, complimentary products, and you did not pay for the expedited shipping — yet you are now demanding a full replacement of two boxes based on the appearance of a small portion of the product.
We take great pride in our products, our service, and the way we treat our customers. We always strive to resolve concerns fairly and professionally. In this case, despite extensive efforts on our side, that was not possible.
At this point, it is clear that we are not able to meet your unrealistic expectations. We are closing this case here, and for that reason, we will not accept future orders under your account.

Cookies were dry and stale
Cookies were dry and stale. Chocolate melted over all the cookies and everything was broken. Awful
Thank you for finding a way to blame me for this. One box of cookies was full of broken cookies with melted chocolate over everything. Tasted stale and gross. I'm home every day, all day. This wasn't me letting them sit on the porch.

Hello Nichols,
We’re very sorry to hear about your experience. We always strive to provide the highest quality products and service, and we truly wish you had reached out to us directly so we could have the chance to assist you right away.
According to our records, your order was shipped via UPS 2-Day Air and delivered in under 48 hours, placed at your doorstep around 11 a.m. As outlined in our summer shipping policy, once a package leaves our facility we have no control over exposure to high temperatures or the time it may remain unattended outdoors. To help prevent these issues, we carefully pack all chocolate products in insulated boxes with ice packs to ensure safe transit. Given that your package arrived within 48 hours, it is unlikely that the melting occurred during transport, but rather after delivery if the box was left outside for too long.
In addition, unless a package arrives visibly damaged, cookies should not be broken. If that had been the case, we would have gladly assisted you in filing a claim with UPS and could have explored options for a refund or replacement.
Most importantly, our products are never stale or old. Everything we sell is made in small batches in Italy and shipped fresh by air to the U.S. If there had been any change in texture due to heat exposure, we would have been more than happy to work with you to resolve it.
While some of the issues described are outside of our control, we remain committed to ensuring our customers enjoy the best experience possible. Please know we are always available to help and encourage you to reach out directly in the future so we can assist promptly.
Sincerely,
Dolci Aveja US
