Dogwise AcademyReviews of dogwiseacademy.com

We used Dogwise Academy to help train our puppy. They did a great job and gave us step by step instructions on how to reinforce the behaviors they taught him. They were a big help!

Cal did a great job with our dog, Oliver. He communicated daily with updates on their training progress. Our dog came back to us w strong foundational training.

They are organized, great with dogs and super invested in the result.

This company leaves a lot to be desired. The price is better than what I had seen around, but you know the saying, "you get what you pay for". I learned too late that in my 14 days of training your dog is only trained for 10 of those days. The trainer gets off 2 days a week. I don't know about you, but I didn't need a dog sitter, I needed my dog trained. The trainers can also have other employment, and your dog is not guaranteed to have training broken up throughout the day. One day I got the message that the trainer had been gone for most of the day and that she was just now getting ready to train my dog, it was 9 pm. I should have had an indication of how it would go when the trainer rescheduled the original pick-up time and then didn't show for the rescheduled time. Now after the 2 week training, it is time for one of our first of 3 follow up sessions. Last week the trainer asked to reschedule and then again today I was called to say she could not make it and I would need to reschedule again. I strongly recommend that you go somewhere else.

Njoud did a wonderful job dealing with anxious rescue Ruby. She was a sweet dog that was bred, abandoned, and never really had a good life. Working on her anxiety and confidence was important but I had never learned how to train that out of a dog. Njoud kept Ruby for a whole 6 weeks and she came back way more confident, happy, and with an actionable plan to address her anxiety bathroom issues. She is a total life saver as I was confused on what to do about her and I couldn't quit my job and stay home forever with her. Now, it looks like with repetition, in a few months she will be fine being home alone while I work.

I think the company was wise to hire Cal. He showed compassion and love for Cassie. I was so blessed to have him train Cassie. Cassie was hard to deal with and now shs is doing great. Cassie got to the point that she grew to love and respect Cal. He is awesome with dogs I would highly recommend Cal.

I sent out 4 month old rescue puppy to puppy boot camp with Tressie. We were so worried and anxious about not having her with us. It was the absolute best decision ever. Daily videos and constant correspondence with us and my 11 year old grandson whom we got the dog for. When Nala returned her house manners were amazing and Tressie went over all that we needed to do to ensure her continued learning. I have not yet followed thru with the additional training but can’t imagine it being anything but a positive journey to her learning. The staff from minute one answered every question and made sure I was comfortable with my decision. I can’t recommend this program enough, my son is looking to get a new puppy and was amazed at how well behaved Nala was and said he would send his next dog there.

I was really hopeful about sending my dog to Dog Wise Academy, but unfortunately I was disappointed with the results. Before he went, he already knew several basic commands and had a good foundation. When he came home, it honestly felt like he had forgotten much of what he already knew. I expected him to come back with improved skills and confidence, not seeming like he had taken a step backward. Every dog is different, and I understand training isn’t a magic fix, but based on my experience, I don’t feel the program delivered the progress I was hoping for. I wish there had been more focus on maintaining the training my dog already had while building on it.
