Wonderfull experience. Ship is cozy, warm, with a very nice lounge. Food and snacks were excellent, fresh and all hand made. Cabins and bathrooms are small but it was not a problem. The crew are very friendly and professional, and have great knowledge of the Sound and Denali. Scenery was terrific, kayaking up to the glaciers, into coves,hiking across tundra, waterfalls, ice covered shores, into forests. Lots of animals seen up close (except the bears). Hugh was our guide and spent all his time pointing out all the flora and the fauna. The important point is that everything we saw was at arms length to touch, smell, and feel. You cannot do anything like this on a big ship. A unique, once in a lifetime hands on commune with the natural world. Thank you Discovery.

Great activities for those who want to see natural Alaska up close. Crew was very knowledgeable friendly and helpful. Every meal was creative and a wonderful experience.

Wonderful and up close Alaska. The activities are unique with the best hikes and kayaking. The food is also plentiful and amazing. Great crew too.

Our group of 7 had a fantastic time on Discovery's Classic Voyage over 5 glorious days last June. Dean and Meg were very welcoming as was their capable crew and all were so knowledgable about the geography, flora and fauna which really enriched all our shore excursions. Thanks to Meg and the girls, every meal was a dining experience in itself and Meg should be congratulated on her moves in the Cha-Cha line which circumnavigated the deck. Our favourite sing-a-long was of course, given the surrounds, Running Bear...we had a daily fix to prevent any music withdrawals. PS Ask Dean and the girls to show you their Jump-Shot prowess but the absolute winner was the Run-Around Pano...don't miss it !!!!

We only did the short 3-day trip but it was wonderful. I would happily describe it as the experience of a lifetime. Captain Dan is very knowledgeable about the area and wildlife and we got to see and learn heaps. We saw seals, salmon, a humpback whale, porpoises, bears, puffins and so many otters. The boat is not luxurious but perfectly comfortable and felt very stable as it did not rock. The food was wonderful, particularly the home-baked cookies and the atmosphere really fantastic. We did some beautiful hikes and the sea kayaking near waterfalls and glaciers were remarkable. Captain Dan and Meg did not expect a tip for their caring services, leaving that for their crew. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this cruise.
