THEY THOUGHT I WAS CRAZY!
People around me thought I was nuts for trying to full body cleanse. I am reasonably healthy and do not eat a lot anyway. But just turned 54, think my mid life is in crisis, could lose some pounds so what the heck. I committed myself to doing it. I thought the second day I would DIE because my days always included hot chocolate-as I do not drink coffee, peanut m and m's and wintergreen lifesavers. I will have salads and then something for dinner. Then I read that the cravings were psychological. O! GAME ON! It was a challenge from then on. I wasn't going to allow this to break me. I had to endure going to Ihop EVERY Friday after church with the girls. Saturday morning at Early Bird with the girls. Weekend barbeques, too. For breakfast it was a bowl of fruit; they talked about me but it did not matter. I watched them; after a while it wasn't so painful and they began cheering for me. At work, for the floor lunches, they did Lebanese; I did fruit or my salad. I noticed my clothes becoming more loose; my skin glowing and my midlife crisis going into remission! It is day 20 today (WHEW HEW!) and now I am actually afraid that I am transitioning off because I certainly do not want to destroy my good work! I am committed to eating raw at least 4 times per week and while I will always consume more veggies and fruits (aaww lawd I love smoothies and am pretty good at combining fruit tastes) I will go back to eating seafood and chicken. It has always been grilled so that isn't too damaging. My m and m's will be a treat as opposed to a staple. I didn't do any running during the 20 days because when I tried, I felt like my body went into shock because I do not think I had consumed enough calories. I will begin running and after my body stabilizes, I will do the weight release 20 day program. It is really a mind game. I also truly understand the philosophy behind fast foods! To go raw is very time consuming in food preparation in my opinion. But it is well worth it. I am so boosted because I accomplished this feat. I would recommend it to anyone. You will be surprised, pleasantly surprised. Trust me!!
