The company can improve by having working ATM’s at all locations always without fail. Better customer service; it’s a credit union not a bank. A better and faster overall app with a dark mode included.

I never had this experience with any other bank, even with opening a new account or being a new member. I deposited a paycheck into my account on Friday 05/16. What a huge mistake that was! Even with being new to the bank you'd think it'd be clear in a few days, like by Monday or Tuesday. That's always been my experience with other banks and credit unions I've done business with throughout the years. I called DF on Monday 05/19 to see what status was. They said it won't clear until 05/26 which is also a holiday so I'm not holding my breath on that. They also can't stop the process once started, so they are holding my money hostage until it clears. NEVER in my life have I had a financial institution have something take that long. A couple days is pretty typical and no big deal. Over 10 days is ludicrous and unacceptable. Unfortunately, I have to deal with them until they aren't holding my money hostage any more. Thank God it's just a personal account and not a business one. The only good thing is now I know where not to bring my business and personal needs.

Firstly, I refinanced a loan with a much better institution at 2% less interest. The bank that refinanced my loan requested a payoff multiple times. They were told I would have to be on the line to authorize this. Really, come on. So we make the call. The person who answered was Brandon. He asked for my name, date of birth, social security number, and driver's license. He then said I would need to come in to prove I am male! The audacity of that statement. I asked, 'Exactly how would you like me to prove this?' He then states that Desert Financial takes security very seriously and that I am misunderstanding the situation. He adds that my voice does not match what he expects of a male voice. Firstly, that is something you should never say. The representative from my new bank tells Brandon that he is speaking to Mr. D and admonishes him for addressing me incorrectly. We then asked for a manager. Said manager left us on hold for 26 minutes. He introduces himself as Julian and supports Brandon's behavior. After 45 minutes of feeling insulted, we finally obtained the payoff information. I will be closing my accounts with Desert Financial by the 23rd and will never do business with them again due to their bigotry. It is unacceptable for any business to behave in this manner. I was made to feel inferior. My tone of voice is due to a very traumatic incident from my early youth that caused multiple surgeries and scars. Brandon and Julian, you need to do better

The process online was not reasonable and consumed an enormous amount of time and effort to accomplish my objectives.

Do not get an loan from this company. Make sure if you are getting an auto loan at the car dealer you tell them this. After two weeks from date of purchase of my vehicle I did not here from this company. I called and they had no record of me. I gave them my info and also checked with the dealer who had transmitted the info on the day of sale. All of a sudden two days later Desert Financial sends me a welcome email. I spent the next two weeks trying to set up ACH payments and this dinosaur of a credit union has no methodology to transmit via tab when you are siget a loangned in to your account your bank routing number and account number. They have a separate department that requires the transmittal of a docusign form to get this done. They sent me four forms with the wrong info on each until they got it cleared up. When you get a loan at a dealer they ask for proof of insurance and that is it. This foolish company requires line item info of your insurance including a binder. They are back in the last century! In every case they do not have auto loans under on department, a silo mentality. Insurance does not sit under the same roof as the ACH folks, CSR's don't have access to any data. The website has no tabs to see the documents you have sent in and when you send in documents they do not send email confirmation. The CEO and upper-management should be fired!

This company is horrible. This company holds your checks for longer than seven days. They don’t tell you when you open a bank account that you have to wait the seven days they say it goes into your bank direct deposit but then when I put in my first check they said I had to wait for seven days and I said Why didn’t y’all say anything before I made my account here because I I’m sure if they said that I wouldn’t have made my bank account here. They didn’t say nothing because they knew they were in the wrong and just asked me again if I wanted to wait the seven days Don’t recommend don’t come here. Bad service bad customer service

We opted for this credit union because it was close to our home and we just moved here from another state so the location was good for us. A year later, we discovered, everything here is ties to a fee. The last credit union we had in Washington State, would automatically transfer funds from savings to checking for us and was always willing to work with us when there's an issue. NOT this bank. They don't do that for you BUT if you want them to do that, their is a fee associated with that. Needless to say, we will be moving our accounts out.
