Very poor customer service.

Delta Dental should be barred from offering cheap companies cheap insurance. The company literally is nothing more then a groupon for teeth cleaning and fillings. Their maximum coverage per year is a joke, and has not been increased in years. Companies offer Delta Dental just to make them appear as though they offer full comprehensive health. It is a lie, nothing is covered under Delta Dental , actually nothing is even discounted. it's a scam.

Opaque documentation, delayed payment for treatment for months due to “lack of information” that was readily available and provided by dentist. Extremely difficult to find the right customer service number, issues actually getting connected when you find the right number. Predatory company.

This is a waste of money, you have to find a dentist in their network but everyone I found told me they won’t take the insurance any longer .Ibcould not get a dentist when I had pain and needed help. They won’t pay your claims then. It’s a real racket

Worthless - I am currently residing overseas and have coverage with them through my previous employer. Every claim has to be mailed in, hard copy as they don't allow us to do it online. Each claim I send cost me $30-$50 to mail it from where I reside. I already made provision to change to Aetna...they receive claims via their Portal

I cancelled my membership and they charged me again for the next year, is this even legal?

I got stuck with Delta as my employer offered dental benefit provider a few years ago and have not had one good experience dealing with them since. I've had to change dentists several times because they all keep dropping off the "preferred provider" list due to the sub par reimbursement rates, now leaving me with no remaining "preferred providers" in my area that are accepting new patients. Claims from non-preferred in network providers are denied without notification and there's no one in customer service you can speak to directly to dispute the denial. I recently lost a crown because it was improperly done, and the claim got denied because it was less than 5 years from the time it was originally installed. They should be going back after the dentist that installed the crown, not denying a claim of the person paying the insurance premium for necessary work.

I almost forgot that I enrolled in this, because they don't send you any correspondence whatsoever. You cannot even check you benefits because you need your member ID to log in, which they do not provide to you after enrollment. The point is for you to forget that you have it. Never again.
