Delta Dental pays its executives…
Delta Dental pays its executives millions of dollars and delivers next to nothing for its patients. It’s a HORRIBLE dental insurance and more and more dental offices not accepting them anymore. I paid twice as much out of my pocket then they paid.

Worthless company
Worthless company, all the way around. There is NO such thing as customer service. They never answer you. Thank God we are finally finished with them on 7/31/26. They just like to take your hard earned money.

Already a failure
I've only had it for a month and these guys are repeat failures. What do you mean I have to request my cards? What do you mean I have to register to TWO websites for you? What do you mean BOTH are down for maintenance every other day for weeks at a time WHEN I NEED MY MEMBERSHIP CARD NOW!

DO NOT Believe the AARP Hype about Delta Dental Insurance
I started with Delta Dental over 5 years ago. Like most AARP members we received tons of propaganda about how good their Dental Plan through Delta Dental is for seniors. The plan is great for Delta Dental but less than useless for Seniors. I tried to get info prior to switching from my personal Delta Dental plan to the AARP version. Not much existed. The main reason to switch was the apparent immediate coverage and lower rate than my personal plan. NOT TRUE.
There is partial immediate coverage for some items but the majority of procedures require a 9 month waiting period which is not specifically laid out in the hype from AARP.
Right after switching to AARP, I had a dental issue requiring significant unplanned work. Delta Dental will not cover until my 9 month coverage delay is passed. I filed a grievance with Delta Dental since I had been a loyal customer for over 5 years. Total reuection. Rules are Rules and Delta Dental will not make exceptions.
I spoke to local Dentist administrator who took my information and provided much more coverage intormation than what AARP Dental Dental provided. This administrator stated the Delta Dental President is paid $48 million per year. Delta Dental coverage is being dropped by a significant number of dentists due to fee structures and other issues.
BEFORE signing on the dotted line for new AARP Delta Dental Service get full disclosure on waiting periods, out of pocket costs and coverage limits. You will be surprised. In addition, I cannot go back to my old plan unless I wait an year and then I would start over just like any other member. There is ZERO customer loyalty with Delta Dental.

I received a pre-treatment estimate from Delta Dental for the replacement of two crowns. The estimate indicated that my insurance would cover approximately $750.
Based on that estimate, I had the procedure completed, and my dentist submitted the claim. After several weeks without receiving any explanation or payment, l contacted Delta Dental. I was informed that my claim had been denied. When I asked why, no one could provide an explanation.
Since then, I have called customer service numerous times. Unfortunately, each representative has given me different and conflicting information. I have been told that:
My claim was denied because my age was incorrectly listed as 12 years old.
My insurance policy was no longer active.
The claim was being resubmitted for review.
Despite these conversations, no one has been able to tell me the actual reason my claim was denied. I believe I am entitled to a clear explanation of the denial, especially after receiving a pre-treatment estimate indicating coverage.
1 am exhausted from repeatedly calling customer service and receiving inconsistent information. I respectfully request that someone review my claim, explain the reason for the denial in writing, and let me know what, if anything, is needed to resolve this matter.
Please help me resolve this issue as soon as possible.

Delta dental worst insurance company ever
I’ve had Delta dental for several years first through my company and then after I had to go on disability, I bought it for my personal sale for dental insurance worst company I’ve ever seen. They don’t wanna pay anything unfortunately there’s not too many other dental insurance out here that Dennis will take that an individual can buy. They paid to get a couple teeth. I had chipped with crowns made for him a couple years ago, no problem. There are no issues and I had two more that came up. They have not been out a lot of money on me. I’ve not had any root canals no cavities no nothing and on the second round they paid for one of them and they’re denying the other then they said they didn’t get any information it was sent to mail to them. It was even sent email now they couldn’t deny the email one and said it’s in with the committee review committee and it takes 90 days. Do you realize how ridiculous this is I mean it’s absolutely insane. I doubt they’re gonna pay the claim and if they don’t, I’m done with them I mean hell I can pay for two teeth cleaning a year and x-rays cheaper than I can pay $500 a year for insurance if they’re not gonna pay anything. I would never recommend this company to anyone. Also, their customer service is the worst. They suck the route. They don’t care if everybody boycott them put them out of business that would be the best thing that could happen.
