Stay away from Delta Dental. I have the most expensive Delta Dental plan through my employer and they barely cover anything. I recently had a routine visit with X-rays and one bonding and I had to pay nearly $150 out of pocket. They were allegedly dropped by my last dentist for predatory and dangerous rules. For example: approving cheaper, less effective treatments than what was recommended by the dentist for higher profits on DD’s end. Many dentists have dropped them for this and other reasons.

Don't go here. Don't call here. Rudest people I've ever dealt with in my 49 years of living. Don't waste your money or your time. They are no help now not in the future. The only descent person was the operator who tried to help.

First, I made an appointment with my dentist and later found out that the appointment was two(2) days earlier than the allotted time. The appointment was for my 6 month cleaning ONLY! Two day would have made no difference but they declined my claim even after a grievance filing. Contacted to pay bill. No response from my email, over two weeks.

I wish I could give 0 stars!!! I was denied numerous times for a procedure that’s clearly covered as long as it’s “a medical concern” in which it absolutely was!! My dentist submitted more than enough info and they still proceeded to deny my claim! Telling me what they clearly tell everyone else, send something in writing to appeal. Are you serious?? I have to go through all of this because y’all want my procedure to be considered cosmetic when it absolutely was not. Of course it helped my smile but the initial and only reason I got the procedure done was because of how bad my gums had got. I could barely touch my mouth without my gums bleeding, they were swollen, they hurt, etc. $5400 I had to pay. Keep asking for new info and there’s no new info!!!!!

Absolute garbage dental insurance. I received a dental bill for $492.00. This is just for a cleaning, 1 cavity, and X-rays. Guess how much of it was covered by delta? $20!!!!! That’s it, just $20. I am better off not giving these crooks any money from my monthly paycheck and covering dental costs on my own!!

I spoke with a rep over the phone who assured me that my upcoming tooth extraction would be covered. I had the tooth extracted and then received the bill, which Delta Dental covered $0. I filed a grievance and requested that they listen to the recorded phone call. Weeks later they mailed me a letter that stated they are aware that I was told that information but it was incorrect and I am responsible for full payment. Be aware - just because they say they will pay, doesn't mean they will.

I have the Delta Dental High PPO plan and need significant work done by my Periodontist. The Dr has done a full consultation, submitted to Delta for a pre-treatment estimate and found out this policy and what is covered is horrible. My treatment plan will cost $15000.000. Delta will cover $2289.50. Most everything is not covered by Delta - laser root treatment, biological material for bone grafting, studs for snap in dentures. They are covering extracting my bottom teeth basically. Nothing else. When I am about to have major restorative surgery for my mouth, Delta has left the building and I ma paying the price every month for nothing. Laser deep cleaning is the standard today for all periodontists - but nothing is covered. Bone grafting is common place, especially for the elderly which I am, but no coverage - and I have the highest priced policy I can buy from the Federal Benefits Program!!!
