Title: Strong Direction for Breaking Into Data Engineering I joined Data Engineer Academy because I was looking for structure, direction, and clarity on how to move into data engineering from a broader IT and cybersecurity background. One of the biggest positives for me was that the program helped connect the dots between SQL, Python, data pipelines, cloud concepts, and the real-world workflow of what data engineers actually do. What stood out most was the practical focus. Instead of only discussing theory, the program emphasizes tools, systems, and implementation. That was important to me because there are so many AI and technology tools available now that it can become overwhelming trying to understand what each one does and how they fit together in an actual career path. The academy helped me better understand: * SQL and database workflow concepts * Python’s role in automation and data handling * Cloud and pipeline thinking * The relationship between AI tools and operational efficiency * How data engineering supports business decision-making I also appreciated that the training encouraged continuous learning instead of presenting data engineering as a quick shortcut. The field is large, and there is still a learning curve, but the academy gave me a framework to begin organizing the knowledge in a way that finally started making sense.
