Good mic for the price
The output seems low compared to other mics.
Response from Dachman AudioApr 18, 2024
Tom, a vintage U87i is about 8 to 10dB lower output compared to the modern variant, the U87 ai. This is normal performance for the microphone.

At first I was getting some digital sounds in some of my vocals..but after some simple unison preamps it’s sounding clear, strong and beautiful. Sounds nice with my acoustic guitar tracks too. Definitely going to be using it often.
