Cub Cadet
Cub Cadet, model 31AH75sx710 apparently part of Black & Decker, etc… Is a well known brand in US and has many great products. We bought a Cub Cadet Snow Thrower in 2016 for $1600 and used it in mild winters pretty much about 7 times. This year after going about 20 feet the plastic Track Wheels, that make the track belt, both cracked and made the unit useless! On close examination, the metal center splines only go in about 1 inch of the front of the wheel. This front of the wheel is only strengthened by a relatively thin layer of plastic and the spline hould have gone all the way through the 3.5 inch center of the wheel. Or the whole wheel should have been made of steel or aluminum. Especially since the bottom skid plate of the track belt should have been made of wheels, not a high friction plastic. I punched new tack wheels at $51 each and after 2 hours of labor, installed them. No help from Cub Cadet could be found. On the phone later, a Cub Cadet representative said they have no way of knowing if the new track wheels are any better and there was no one I could talk to about it. Pretty sad, for a now $2600 unit!
