I purchase a home water filter which after two years stopped working. I think the filter was too small for the house size. But there was really no one to consult with on the best system. Also, it was difficult reordering the cartridges because there was not a good record of what I had purchased or the representative didn't know how to assist me

Thank you for sharing your experience. Although the purchase and difficulties you described occurred a few years ago, we understand why the experience remained disappointing. Looking back at the original order, it does appear that the system selected may have been smaller than ideal depending on your household’s actual water demand. In that situation, the cartridges can reach their capacity sooner than expected, making it appear that the system has stopped working even though it may simply require service or replacement cartridges. More detailed sizing guidance at the time could have helped provide a better experience. We have since made it easier for customers to access their purchase information. Previous orders and compatible replacement products can be viewed by signing in at https://accounts.crystalquest.com. If an older order is not visible or the correct replacement remains unclear, our team can also retrieve the order history and identify the exact cartridges needed. We would still be glad to review the original system alongside your household’s current water usage and determine whether new cartridges would restore its performance or whether a larger configuration would be more appropriate. Please contact us at [email protected], and we will make sure someone assists you directly.

I bought a system to wash my car because of the hard water we have in AZ. Unfortunately the system didn’t make a difference and I still get deep hard water spots all over my vehicle. Very disappointed and I feel tricked.

Hi Jamie, we completely understand why continuing to see deep water spots would leave you disappointed. You purchased this system to solve a very specific and frustrating problem with Arizona’s hard water, and we never want a customer to feel tricked, misled, or let down. We would like to send you a complimentary replacement DI cartridge. Based on what you’ve described, we believe replacing the cartridge may resolve the spotting, while also giving us a fresh and reliable baseline if any additional troubleshooting is needed. In a situation like this, we would typically recommend comparing the incoming and treated-water TDS readings. Highly mineralized water can exhaust deionization resin more quickly, particularly when the incoming TDS or flow rate is high. Those readings can help us determine whether the media exhausted unusually quickly, water is bypassing treatment, or another part of the system’s configuration is affecting performance. Please send us an email at [email protected], call us at 1-800-934-0051, or submit a support request at https://crystalquest.com/pages/create-support-ticket so we can arrange the complimentary cartridge and help get your system producing the spot-free rinse you purchased it for. Thank you in advance for giving us the opportunity to investigate this and make it right.

Extremely disappointed with this system and the customer service. We have had this system for a year, since building our new home, and it has been nothing but constant problems. It wastes an unbelievable amount of water, and despite reaching out to the company several times, we still do not have a solution. They have sent us replacement parts with no instructions and no technician to install them. When we asked how to wire one of the parts, they sent us a picture showing it wired incorrectly. Then, when it didn’t work properly, we were told it was wired wrong—which was based on the incorrect instructions/picture they had provided us. We have repeatedly asked for a technician to come out because, while the system is currently running, it is wasting a TON of water into our yard. We are also going through approximately two bags of salt every two weeks, which is clearly not right. After an entire year of dealing with this, we still have not received a proper resolution. We have been patient, contacted them multiple times, and done everything we have been asked to do, but the same issues continue. A system that is supposed to make things easier has instead been a constant headache, costing us unnecessary water and salt while we continue trying to get someone to actually diagnose and fix the problem. After a year, we should not still be troubleshooting a system that was installed in our brand-new home.

Hi Monica, We understand why such a lengthy troubleshooting process has been frustrating. After reviewing the complete history, however, I also want to clarify that the initial membrane restriction was not diagnosed as a failure of the RO system itself. The system initially operated without the pretreatment recommended for the incoming well water. The raw feedwater was subsequently reported at approximately 41 grains per gallon of hardness, an extremely significant level of hardness, and laboratory testing identified silica and other scale-forming conditions. Without proper pretreatment, water with this level of complexity can rapidly foul an RO membrane, restrict purified-water production, increase concentrate flow, and require more frequent softener regeneration. Once those conditions were identified, Crystal Quest provided the recommended silica-dosing equipment and a replacement membrane at no charge other than shipping. We also sent Kevin to your property at our expense to work alongside your plumber and evaluate the system onsite. That diagnostic could not be completed because the pump required replacement, so we subsequently provided a replacement pump and motor, along with the necessary fittings and check valve, at no charge. Our team has also spent considerable time providing phone and remote troubleshooting throughout this process. We recognize that one replacement shipment required additional fittings and that a later representative’s departure contributed to an unfortunate lapse in communication. We sincerely regret those service gaps. At the same time, the documented history does not indicate that the RO system itself was responsible for every issue encountered, particularly the initial membrane fouling that was consistent with scaling from the untreated feedwater. The latest flow readings still deserve a proper evaluation. Our team remains prepared to review the feed pressure, membrane and concentrate-flow settings, recirculation, silica-dosing operation, and softener programming with you through the existing support channels. Furthermore, I will personally push this forward internally so that we can resume the evaluation without further unnecessary delay. A senior member of our team should be in contact with you tomorrow to coordinate or move this forward to resolution. I want to emphasize that none of this is intended to minimize your experience or frustration. I understand why the pace and repeated troubleshooting have been disappointing, and I sincerely apologize for the unsatisfactory experience you have had so far. We remain committed to identifying the remaining issue and working toward a satisfactory resolution, and we hope you will give us the opportunity to complete that process.

Even after replacing all six o-rings, i'm still getting leaks. Our system is 8 years old. We are thinking of switching to a new one.

I would like to start by thanking you for choosing our system for continuous use over the past 8 years. I'm sorry that you are still dealing with a leak even after replacing all of the o-rings. On a system that age, a persistent leak can often be something a specialist can help pinpoint quickly, such as a worn housing, a seating issue, or over-tightening, and it might not always be a sign the whole system is done. Please reach out to our technical team at [email protected] or (800) 934-0051 with your model information, and someone would be glad to help you figure out whether a small fix or a replacement makes the most sense.
