Though their customer service rep was very friendly, their website is totally misleading. You need to read the fine print regarding the "gratuities for 2 included", which is only offered IF you call them directly to book NOT online. Who would ever think to do that?

False and misleading promotional ads
Vacationers beware. This is a highly fraudulent company that advertises bonuses that are not honored. They currently show a promo to pay gratuities that is complete rubbish. There are no caveats shown on their web-site promo banner but when I questioned their sales team, they stated that the promo wasn’t applicable to the cruise I selected. Would it be so difficult to tell the truth and note that the promo only applies to specific sailings, staterooms, etc???

Prices are only indicative and not the real price...
I recently had the experience of planning a cruise through Cruise.com and feel compelled to share some insights that potential customers might find important. While the site initially appeared to offer competitive pricing and a wide array of options, I encountered issues with the actual costs versus what was advertised.
As I progressed through the booking process, it became clear that the listed prices were not all-inclusive of the real costs associated with the trip. Additional fees, taxes, and service charges, which were not clearly disclosed upfront, significantly increased the total cost. This practice gave me a strong impression of a bait-and-switch tactic, where the attractive prices drew me in, only for the actual expenses to be revealed later in the process.
This lack of transparency in pricing is disappointing and diminishes the otherwise user-friendly experience of the website. Customers should be able to trust that the prices they see are accurate and comprehensive. I hope Cruise.com addresses these concerns to provide a more honest and straightforward service. Until then, I advise potential customers to be wary and to thoroughly check all potential additional costs before booking.

Cruises.com will NOT give you best rates!!!! Booked a cruise almost 2 years in…
Booked a cruise almost 2 years in advance on Cruises.com & when on my reservation with Royal Carribean it showed rate dropped $100 pp. I called right away & lady at Cruises.com said she checked with Royal Carribean & rate was actually higher. I double checked again & still said same cruise same time in same room was $100 pp cheaper. Lady wouldn’t give me reduced rate. I don’t even think she called. Terrible customer service!!!! Company doesn’t standing by what they say if rate drops will always get lower rate.

False advertising and advice
I had called and asked about promotion and was told that it applied to my booking. When my cruise was actually booked and I looked at confirmation it did not include gratuities like I was told it would. When questioned why it was not included was told it didn’t apply to my booking even though earlier in the day was told it would. I was then told for $558 more I could move to a balcony and the gratuities would be included, so I called to upgrade to a balcony and then was told it would be and additional $900 and some odd dollars and another $250 for the deposit. Will never book with this Company again. Just out to rip you off with false advertising and advice.

Thieves and liars- and we WON our trip!
My wife and I won a cruise through our boat club, and, unfortunately it was managed by cruises.com, which is owned by World Travel Holdings, so I assume their other cruise websites are just as awful (unless our totally useless agent, Tia Laywell was the problem). It happened that the cruise we won was our first cruise ever, a 5 day excursion, and happened to be on our 40th wedding anniversary. As such, we wanted to exchange the trip for a longer one, which, according to their paperwork was possible, as the cruise date was a year away. I called Ms Useless Laywell multiple times on multiple days for a number of weeks, left a message each time with my phone number, only to NEVER receive a call back.
So, we still wanted to go on this cruise, as we had never been on one before. We left on the cruise, and although all gratuities were SUPPOSED to be paid for, they only paid for the gratuities for the room. Drink gratuities and meal gratuities were NOT paid for. In addition, we were SUPPOSED to receive a $50 onboard credit the day after we started the cruise. NOT! I emailed Ms Useless, and I received a response that “she’s out of the office until the 15th,” which is when our trip ended. I emailed her again, on the 21st, and received the same message. FINALLY she called us, and said that “we will receive a $50 credit card in 6-8 weeks” because we didn’t specify that we wanted it on our cruise. We won’t hold our breath waiting for that…

Don't take the bait, just book through the cruise line
I called Cruises.com, my TRAVEL AGENT to get assistance with buying a transfer from the airport to the pier and back again. Was not offered an opportunity to buy the transfer at the time of booking on their website. I couldn't login (scary, no?) and got a message to call. The rep told me to take an Uber because he could not sell me a transfer. What use is a travel agent if I have to call the cruise line myself for everything?

Would not honor cancelation fee waiver
We had to cancel due to a child illness. I spoke to one representative that told me they have the ability to waive the cancelation fee since I'd been a previous customer and had never canceled before. Since the cruise was booked by my husband, I was told he'd have to call back and complete the cancelation....when he did the representative would not honor the waiver request stating we should have bought the insurance. We will never book through this company again.
