Overpriced and underperformed
I’m extremely disappointed with my experience with Experian following a dispute over an incorrect credit marker on my credit file.
I had been paying £14.99 per month for Experian for at least six years. As a long-term paying customer, I expected a much higher level of service, support and accountability when I raised a legitimate dispute. Unfortunately, my experience has been extremely frustrating.
I contacted Experian after noticing an issue with information recorded on my credit report. I provided evidence, including bank statements and payment information, to demonstrate my position and expected the matter to be properly investigated. Instead, I felt that the evidence I supplied was not given the consideration I would reasonably expect.
What particularly concerns me is that Experian appears to place significant reliance on information supplied by third parties, while the consumer is left having to prove that information is inaccurate. I understand that Experian does not necessarily provide all of the information appearing on a credit report, but I believe it has a responsibility to properly investigate disputes and ensure that information held on a consumer’s credit file is accurate.
The communication throughout the complaint process also left me dissatisfied. I felt that I was having to repeatedly explain the same issue rather than receiving a clear, evidence-based resolution.
When something as important as a credit file can affect access to finance, mortgages and other services, accuracy should be treated as extremely important. After paying £14.99 every month for at least six years, I expected Experian to provide considerably more assistance when I actually needed it.
Unfortunately, I have now reached the point where I feel I have no choice but to escalate the matter further. I am taking my concerns to the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) and the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) so the handling of my dispute and the accuracy of the information can be independently considered.
Overall, I am extremely disappointed. Six years of paying for the service should have counted for something. I expected more from Experian.

Experian is not helpful
Experian won’t fix my credit report even though I gave them proof that my loan is paid in full because Affirm won’t confirm this. Two of the worst companies working together to make my life miserable!

The worst of the 3 bureaus
The worst of the 3 bureaus. They will blindly accept the creditors side without proof on their part ither than their "word". If they the creditor replies back to them, thats about the extent of "proof" from the creditor. I have asked for proof from their side they used to weigh their decision and they have not complied. Terrible service on top of bad business policy.

EXPERIAN IS A TOTAL FRAUDULENT SCAM…
EXPERIAN IS A TOTAL FRAUDULENT SCAM THAT CHARGES YOU TO FLOOD YOUR INBOX WITH SPAM. THEIR CREDIT BOOST PROGRAM LOWERED MY CREDIT SCORE 60 POINTS LOWER THAN THE OTHER TWO REPUTABLE CREDIT AGENCIES (Trans Union and Equifax). Soley for the purpose of trying to harvest even more of your private information. Then give this BS about how some scores may vary from one agency to another. Sorry for the screaming!
