I've paid $100 for a bland, unengaging so-called pay-per-click ad on Facebook. No creativity at all. Just a few hashtags to "target sales".
Problem 1: The ad shows the wrong cover art. The cover was updated on My Books on the CB site ages ago, but the wrong cover still shows up on some pages on the site and on this ad.
Problem 2: The ad links to CB's site rather than my Amazon sales page. This is a no-no for driving sales. Too many clicks.
Problem 3: The book's price is not shown correctly on CB's sales page for my book.
Problem 4: As for PPC -- how is this ad pay-per-cIick? I can't see how many clicks I've gained, and I don't suppose I'll be given any money back if I only garner a few.
I feel ripped off. This site used to be OK, but now it charges too much and misleads buyers. BUYER BEWARE.

Scam company avoid they take money no return on investment. They also will sell data to third partys or thats what I can only assume due to spam emails afterwards. Refuse to refund even after not responding to tickets during sale there is no point afterwards is there whencmy sale has ended. Avoid at all costs terrible company. If you want to advertise your book use other plaforms everyone on their site do nothing and waste your money. Terrible company of scammers.

I spent over £200 on promotions and some of the most expensive ones LitNuts and ebookfairs never even advertised my book online or in the newsletter that I paid for. I have raised two tickets one for each issue and it seems I am just being ignored. I have two more newsletters to go out later today we will see if they even do. I have lost complete faith in Cravebooks for its lack of support with this especially when spending a large amount on promotion and using them previously. If I am not refunded for the multiple promotions I didn't receive after paying money I will be contacting my bank to retrieve the money. It had also pretty much destroyed my promotion with the biggest newsletters not even bothering in sharing my book. I am extremely disappointed for anyone curious I spread my promotions over multiple days to get an idea which ones worked and which ones didn't. And I can honestly say after 12 sales for £200 its not even worth it and I cant even guarantee those sale were from the newsletters as I advertise on Facebook aggressively and generally have natural sales each month. A once good service ruined by poor service and scam newsletters they associate with.
Update - As to the previous reviewer who mentioned spam as of 16th Feb my phone number has now been spoofed which i hold cravebooks responsible for as my email has been bombarded with spam and now my phone number is being spoofed. I highly suggest people avoid this website or at the bare minimum the sites they promote as at least one of them is selling your information.

Your book was featured in each newsletter and promotional platform as purchased. We understand your frustration with the ROI, but all services were fulfilled as described.
Regarding support tickets:
We sincerely apologize if you felt ignored. We have responded to your tickets and are committed to resolving any outstanding concerns. If you did not receive our responses, please check your spam folder or reach out to us directly at [email protected].
Regarding spam messages and phone number spoofing:
We want to be very clear: CraveBooks does not sell author data to third parties or scammers. We are a platform built by authors for authors, and we keep your information strictly confidential.
Additionally, we reviewed your account and could not find your phone number listed with us at all. This means we would have no way to bombard you with spam messages or sell your phone number to anyone. Phone number spoofing is unfortunately a widespread issue on the internet and is not connected to CraveBooks or any of our partner sites.
The timing may feel coincidental, but spam surges can occur after any public-facing activity, such as running promotions, updating links, or appearing on deal pages. Scammers often scrape publicly available information and send AI-generated outreach. While we understand how distressing this is, it did not originate from us.
Regarding refunds:
Since all promotions were delivered as purchased, we are unable to issue a refund. However, we are open to discussing alternative solutions to address your concerns.
We genuinely value your feedback and want to ensure you have a positive experience. If you'd like to discuss this further, please reach out to us directly.

Poor ROI and a "coincidental" surge in spam "book marketer" emails the moment I booked with them.
I booked a $16 promo with E-reader Girl, run by Cravebooks. The webpage is what I'd consider poor quality, with ebooks in a wide variety of genres, many of them with poor quality, self-made covers. I sold only one copy of the book on sale; with other romance ebook promo newsletters I've had higher ROI for a lower or comparable fee. Worst of all, it's clear they sold my data. From the date I booked the promo, there's been a sharp increase in spam emails from book promotion scammers using AI pitches. Highly recommend you avoid this organization. Wish I'd done more research. Lesson learned!
EDITED TO ADD: As you can see below, Shubhi, owner of CraveBooks, insists the sudden increase of spam "book marketer" emails that started on the date of my original booking is a coincidence. As to the unsatisfactory results, she offered to rebook that same book for a 2/9/26 romance specific promo and assured me I'd see better results. It's 2/11/26, and I've had zero sales on that book. For reference, another promo earlier this month, same book, same 99¢ price, resulted in over 100 sales. In addition, Shubhi has not answered my email from 2/9 asking what happened. So once again, I'm a very dissatisfied customer and would advise authors to think twice before paying CraveBooks for any so-called promo.

Thanks for taking the time to leave this review. We are genuinely sorry the E-reader Girl promo didn’t deliver the ROI you expected, and we understand why you’d be frustrated.
A few important points for clarity:
We do not sell or rent author data. CraveBooks does not sell email addresses or booking details to third parties.
Spam spikes can happen after any public-facing activity. When an author runs a promo, updates links, or appears on deal pages and newsletters, scammers often scrape publicly available information and then send AI-generated outreach. It is unfortunately common in this industry, but it is not something we participate in or endorse.
That said, your feedback on site presentation and genre mix is fair to raise. We are actively working on improving the reader experience, including tighter quality controls and clearer genre separation so authors can better match the right audience.
If you’re open to it, we’d like to look into your specific booking and the timing of the spam increase to see if we can identify any likely source. Please reach out to our support team with:
the email used for the booking
the promo date
your book title
a couple examples of the spam senders/domains
We’ll review it, and we’ll also see what we can do to make this right on the promo side.
Again, we are sorry this was your experience, and we appreciate you flagging it.

Giveways- a Total Waste of Time
I don't know if the company can help. I did the giveaway for my book Seeking the Light of Justice. In 24 hours, you gave away 1263 books. That sounds great. I got emails from all those people. However, it didn't generate one sale or review. I did a giveaway on Goodreads and got the same results. I am doing the same on my website. The results are the same: No reviews and no future sales. It's a total waste of time and money.
Response from CraveBooksMar 30, 2024
Hi Berry,
Thank you for sharing your experience with the giveaway for "Seeking the Light of Justice." I understand your frustration and disappointment in not seeing immediate sales or reviews following the giveaway, despite the significant number of books distributed.
I'd like to clarify that for the giveaway you participated in, books were only distributed to 3 winners chosen from a large pool of readers. This aligns with our standard practice for most giveaways. However, in your case, you were part of our special $5 ginormous giveaway event, which, as an exception, aimed to significantly increase author exposure by promising 200 emails but ultimately delivered 1200+ emails to participants.
It's important to note that these readers voluntarily opted into authors' newsletters, suggesting an interest in the genre or book. However, engagement beyond that, such as sales or reviews, relies on the readers' continued interest and is not guaranteed through the giveaway alone.
The purpose of these promotions is to get the email addresses of the readers who sign up. This helps you build your newsletter list, which allows you stay connected to the readers.
Readers sign up for a chance to win a Kindle and the ebooks of the participating authors. There is one grand prize winner who gets all of that and 2 winners who receive all the ebooks. So with each List Builder, only 3 readers are getting copies of the ebooks.
If you are looking to increase sales and reviews, our Daily Deal promotions can help with that.
We want to support your promotion efforts. Please let us know if you have any further questions.
We shall reach out to you through email to understand your issues more deeply.
Best Regards
CraveBooks Team
