Cottman of Louisville was very and graciously helpful to me when i had car trouble. They diagnosed the problem and were honest about the solution. They let me keep my car on their premises until i made up my mind about the repair costs. I have opted for a used rather than new transfer case for my car (a gamble on my part) and will service my car at another place. But, Greg, at Cottman's was forever understanding and, again as I said, he was totally helpful to me while I figured out where to get my car repaired. I will certainly consider Cottman's whenever I have an automobile need.

I recently had an issue with my transmission where I would have intermittent issues with my automatic transmission (1996 Jeep Cherokee) and went to Cottman to see if they could troubleshoot the car. Of course, when I went to have it checked out at that time the car decided to behave normally and they could find no error codes associated with the trans. 2 weeks later on a Friday my car started to show the symptoms and called late that afternoon and asked if I could stop by quickly as the car may or may not show the problems if I waited till Monday. They had no problem with me bringing it by even though it was just before closing time. They were able to get the error code this time and I explained that I was going to need the car for the weekend but I would bring it by on Monday to have them do a more thorough continuity check. I dropped the car off late morning Monday. They were able to get to my vehicle Tuesday and explained that I required a replacement solenoid as the car appeared to be staying in a higher gear instead of automatically down shifting to a lower gear. The solenoid was replaced and a new filter (and transmission fluid) was put in at that time as well. The service couldn't be any better. If you are looking for a shop to get the job done and be 100 % honest and very responsive, look no further. Called the shop and they responded to me within 30 Minutes on a busy Monday morning. They did not charge me to analyze the problem, they got to work immediately and reported all the prices and other small repairs needed for the work that got done an entire clutch swap, they charged me a very fair price. Lastly they were very timely, the whole process was done in a week.
