I'd been driving around with my check engine light on for almost 3 years! I took it to another shop, they'd repair what THEY thought the issue was, but in a few days the light would return. I did a lot of research and found lots of owners of chevy malibus had issues with the check engine light and evap codes, but no solutions for my 2006. Finally, after reading online reviews, I decided I would give Cottman's a try. I dropped my car off and explained about the cel, the vaccum codes the car was throwing, how my car was running rough and loud and how I had acceleration issues. The next day, which was Saturday, Greg called to let me know my exhaust system was cracked, but he also followed up with me to make sure he understood the issues I was having. He asked if they could keep the car longer and drive it some more and run a smoke test to try to find the vaccum leak causing the codes. Imagine my surprise when Monday morning, he called to inform me that a smoke test would not be necessary as they discovered a loose valve causing the codes. They plugged valve back in (no charge), repaced the exhaust system at a price that was more than fair, IMHO, and now my car rides like a limo and is as quiet as mice peeing on cotton! 😄 I'm not taking my car anywhere else! Great people, excellent service! ALL the thumbs up!

These guys saved me on many levels. They saved me money. They saved me time. And they did both with professionalism and care. They diagnosed my car's problem, and then discovered that the issue was the result of a previous accident. They suggested that the issue should have been fixed during my initial repair. So, on their own, they contacted my insurance agent, and, much to my surprise, were able to get the insurance company to include this repair as part of my initial claim. Greg, the service representative, is smart, very easy to speak with, and got the job done. Thank you!
