Corebridge should get zero stars but…
Corebridge should get zero stars but not an option to choose from. Took three months to finally get money transferred out of Corebridge retirement fund into another company my financial advisor advised. They were holding money hostage and refused to release it, saying the paperwork was not completed to their satisfaction. The paperwork was submitted repeatedly only for them to find something else wrong. They needed signatures from a previous employer but wouldn't take a proactive stance to help and even the telephone number they provided for me to call had been disconnected. The Corebridge overseas call center has very friendly people but they are not empowered to help. They say things will be taken care of and the money released but and it was all empty promises. When you call back there is no paper trail or accountability and you have to start all over again explaining the issue. I finally found a number for the Corebridge Compliance Help Line (I believe an independent agency from Corebridge) and the next day got a call from someone stateside. Even with that, it took unbearingly long to get MY money. My financial advisor says Corebridge is the worst to deal with out of all the companies out there. I am just glad to have this nightmare over with as I was losing sleep worried that I would never see my money again. Why does it take so long? I think they are hoping you will give up which in this telephone maze certainly might happen.
