Thank you for sharing your feedback, and we are sorry to hear about your frustration. After reviewing your order, we can confirm that the correct books were provided based on the package you selected at checkout. The package you purchased is specifically designed for the ICC G16 exam, and that exam exclusively permits the 2017 NEC code book — no other edition is allowed into the exam room. If a candidate arrives to take the G16 exam with any edition other than the 2017, they will not be permitted to sit for the exam. For that reason, we do not sell the 2023 NEC as part of this package, as it would not be accepted and would put our customers at a disadvantage on exam day. The exam-specific code book included in your package was selected based on the ICC G16 exam requirements, not the general state adoption of the 2023 code. We understand this may not have been clear at the time of purchase and we are always happy to assist customers in selecting the right package before ordering. Please reach out to our support team directly at [email protected] and we will be happy to assist you and ensure you have everything you need to succeed on your exam.

Thank you for taking the time to share this feedback — we’re sorry to hear how frustrating this felt. For clarity, we reviewed the recorded call. During that conversation, our representative explained there are two different exam paths with different required references: Residential only vs. Unlimited Commercial & Residential. You were asked which route you wanted to pursue, and you confirmed Unlimited Commercial & Residential. The books and study materials that were ordered were based on that selection. We also want to note that, as stated in our policy, all book items are final sale. That said, we still wanted to help you move forward once you indicated you may be switching directions. To support you, we offered to switch your course at no extra charge and provide the one additional book needed for the Residential trade route at a significant discount—so you would effectively have two exam-prep options for the price of one. If you’d like to move forward with the course switch, please email us at [email protected] and our team will get you started.

Thanks for sharing your feedback — and we’re sorry the books weren’t what you expected when they arrived. One important clarification: Contractor Training Center (CTC) does not publish these books and we don’t control the trim size, font size, or layout. Those details are set by the publisher, and we receive the materials in the format they produce. We also want to be clear that we were not trying to mislead anyone. Photographing books can make it difficult to accurately convey true scale without a reference point, and we understand how the image may have suggested a different size. We appreciate you pointing this out, and we’re reviewing the product page to make the physical dimensions clearer so customers know exactly what they’re ordering. Regarding shipping, the cost is based on carrier rates and required packaging/tracking, but we understand how it can feel disproportionate when the books are smaller than expected. We appreciate the review and the opportunity to improve the listing clarity going forward.
