Once we realized that you know more about reporting than we do, we knew you didn't need our help. Just kidding. Our case reviews are never about collecting information, but they are about reviewing evidence. In your situation, we let you know what we needed to move forward so we could assess whether the reporting was accurate or not. Based on what was available, we made our decision. We understand that this is disappointing, but to bring a lawsuit in federal court, you have to bring solid evidence. The legal assistant's role is to relay that decision to the client. We're sorry you feel your call was a “waste of time.” Our intake process is how we start building the pieces of your story and gathering evidence for a potential federal claim. In Fair Credit Reporting Act cases, documentation matters: what was reported, what was actually owed, what notices were sent, what disputes were made, and what proof exists to show the reporting is inaccurate and the credit bureau or data provider failed to investigate reasonably. During your call, we asked about supporting proof because that’s what allows our attorneys to assess whether there’s a viable FCRA claim versus some other form of dispute that falls outside of FCRA protections. A credit report showing dates you believe are wrong can be a starting point, but it isn’t, by itself, proof that the reporting is legally actionable under the FCRA. That’s why our team asks targeted questions and requests documentation. If you decline to provide the requested proof, there's nothing we can do. We don’t charge for intake, and we don’t take cases unless we can build them responsibly. We encourage you to take your documents to another firm for a second opinion. Hi Mr. Coe, No one wasted your time, took extremely long, or told you to "get lost." For two months, between 12/11/2024 and 2/14/2025, we thoroughly investigated your claim, guided and assisted you in the gathering of evidence, and had an attorney review the facts in light of the law. In our opinion, your claim did not warrant a lawsuit. As you know, you're free to work with another law firm and can now hand them all of the evidence that we carefully compiled completely free of charge. Additionally, our records indicate that you regularly did not answer your phone and only occasionally responded to emails and text messages. We tried to call three times to discuss our final decision, but you never answered. So, we sent an email that was incredibly respectful and kind. We wish you well and hope you find the resolution you're seeking.

Mr. Hawk, We investigated your claim a few months ago and, in our opinion, did not believe there was enough evidence to pursue a lawsuit. As promised, you were never charged a single cent for the hours of effort our team put in. We referred you to another law firm for a second opinion, but they also declined to pursue a lawsuit. Asking a law firm to investigate your situation as a potential legal case for free and then acting disgruntled and vengeful when they do exactly that is a choice. Law firms are free to decline any case they want, and you are free to get legal opinions from as many law firms as you want. Taking your anger out on us probably isn't the best use of your time.
