We initially hired Collegewise to help my daughter navigate the complexities of college admissions, but unfortunately, it fell short of our expectations where it mattered most. On a positive note, the online platform/tool they provide is genuinely useful. It helped my daughter stay organized and keep track of various application deadlines and requirements in one place. If you are just looking for a project management system, that part works well. However, we did not pay for a tracking tool; we paid for expert strategic advice, which was noticeably absent. My daughter did not receive the high-level guidance necessary to make critical decisions about her application strategy. We expected the consultant to help her determine which schools were the best fit for ED1, ED2, and Regular Decision cycles based on her profile and the current admissions landscape. Instead, she was left to make these pivotal choices largely on her own without any real "insider" strategy or direction. If you are looking for a firm that provides proactive, strategic counseling on how to actually get into competitive schools, I’m not sure this is the right fit. It felt more like administrative support than true admissions coaching.

Attended a web event. It was solid. One gentlemen in Southern California, I forget his name, had a very good grasp of the material. I decided to schedule a call for 12:00 today. Received a missed call at 11:59, and a voicemail with a number to call back, and also a message that the representative would try again to reach me shortly. I called back at exactly 12, the time of the scheduled call, and again at 12:01. 12:23 and still no communication. I arranged my morning according to this, and given the effective no show, had no choice but to leave a review hoping I might save someone else's time.

I received personal statement help/advice from Casey Near. My essay format was montage. Her feedback to me was quite discouraging and I did not agree with many of her suggestions to "edit" my personal statement. I went with my gut feeling and kept my essay as is and "personal" to me. Ended up getting into 5 Ivies, all UCs, and now am entrolled at stanford. Stay true to yourself. The feedback you receive from others, even trained professionals, is just one person's opinion.

My daughter made it very easy for advisor. She handed her essays in on time and was very thorough in all her assignments but did not receive much back. She was never helped to navigate which schools may be better for her to apply to or any strategies for getting accepted into certain schools. She graduated with honors from Millburn high school and was only accepted at her safety schools. I will not be using your service for my other children.
